WE ARE CONCORDIA
Concordia Lutheran College is a coeducational Christian school catering to the diverse needs of all the members of one family from Kindy to Year 12. It is not elitist or academically selective, but a College for parents who desire the very best for their children. At Concordia each individual is valued.
Students experience the best of two worlds. Although the three campuses of our College are of medium size, students benefit from large scale opportunities and broad curriculum offerings across Junior, Middle and Senior College. Our Vision is that students would become life-long learners and proactive citizens of the global community, utilising their God-given gifts and talents for the benefit of others.
As it is Our Purpose to encourage students to develop relationships and confidence to become resilient young people who care for each other, we create opportunities for students to be self-directed, insightful and creative learners. This is also the case within our boarding community where students are encouraged to be open and responsive to others by mentoring younger students.
Concordia is an innovative and progressive College that builds upon and values its rich traditions dating back to 1946. Ever since early settlement of the Darling Downs by German pioneering families, Lutheran education, and indeed Concordia Lutheran College, has welcomed students from a range of cultural backgrounds, including those from rural and indigenous communities of western and northern Queensland, as well as students from foreign shores.
Since its humble beginnings as a school with an enrolment of 27 students, crests, names, and mottos have changed variously, as we have grown to become one of Toowoomba's most respected and influential coeducational, boarding schools. Yet, the true meaning of the Latin word 'Concordia' - union and harmony - has stood the test of time throughout.
Our motto: With One Heart… serves to unite the Many Stories bound within this prospectus as a glimpse of the rich educational environment students of Concordia experience on a daily basis.
Often visitors to our College remark that "It's the feel!" that makes the first impression such a memorable one. We know it to be a reflection of Our Values which give emphasis to character traits such as respect, compassion, integrity and courage, founded on the belief that gender equity, cultural diversity and stewardship of the earth are essential features of any successful community.
We warmly invite you to come and tour our College so you can more fully understand why staff, parents and students recognise that With One Heart many lives are united.
Mr Michael Kaiser
Head of College
Since its foundation in 1946, Concordia Lutheran College has grown to become one of the Darling Downs' most respected and influential coeducational boarding schools. As a school of the Lutheran Church of Australia we are committed to serving our students, their families and the wider community by providing quality education in which the Gospel informs all relationships, learning and teaching. As a Christian College, we endeavour to make Concordia Lutheran College a community of students, staff and parents who support the College's values and aims. The great strength of the College lies in the spirit of its humanity. Of profound importance are the relationships and experiences which the College nurtures and develops in order to realise fully the potential of those in its care. At Concordia Lutheran College we are committed to the value and importance of girls and boys learning and working together as they will in their adult lives. For more than sixty years, our students have maintained a consistent and outstanding record of academic achievement. The Overall Positions (OP) achieved by Year 12 students each year are a testament to the College's high standard of teaching, quality academic programs, outstanding facilities and, above all, the discipline and dedication of Concordia's students. We seek to develop the talents of every individual to achieve personal goals, enabling each student to make a full contribution to their community and know that they are a valued member of society.
As Head of College and a parent myself, I understand how much time it can take to choose the ‘right’ school for your child, a place where they will be happy to learn and grow.
As you can imagine I often get asked the question ‘What sets Concordia Lutheran College apart from other schools?’ I could answer, ‘We offer a holistic Christian education in a coeducational environment for day and boarding students.’ If you asked our students the same question they may well say they have finally found a home, a place where they belong and make close friends; a place where teachers inspire them to learn and grow musically, physically, socially and spiritually.
Often visitors to our College remark to me that “It’s the feel!” that makes the first impression such a memorable one. We know that it is in fact a reflection of Our Values which give emphasis to character traits such as respect, compassion, integrity and courage, founded on the belief that gender equity, cultural diversity and stewardship of the earth are essential features of any successful community.
Concordia is a College for the whole family, where siblings can learn and grow together. That’s why we offer the most generous sibling discounts and the best ‘Boarding Bundle’ in Toowoomba. In fact, overall, we strive to keep our fees as low as possible and all inclusive. Additionally, a range of scholarships and bursaries are available on application throughout the year.
At Concordia, we’re proud that 7 out of 8 parents who visit the College for the first time will go on to enrol their child/ren. Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that we are a College spread across three smaller campuses. This benefits children’s learning, yet at the same time offers students greater choice and the opportunity to access a huge variety of sport, music, the Arts, science, technology and so much more.
I warmly welcome you and invite you to come and tour our College to experience for yourself why staff, parents and students recognise that ‘With One Heart’ many lives are united.

Concordia Boarding maintains a healthy balance between achieving academic goals, social relaxation, youth activities and service to others. This is why it’s such a special place for your child.
A positive school climate in which young people feel connected is the best environment for learning.
Concordia Lutheran College focuses on people and as a result all members of our community are involved in caring for each other. Structures have been put in place to cater for individual and group needs from P-12. It is the policy of the College to appoint Christian teachers, who regard their role as one not merely of instruction, but also of nurture, encouragement and counsel to the students in their care.

Since its beginnings in 1946, as a school with an enrolment of only 27 students, our crest, our name, uniforms and mottos have changed variously, as we have grown to become one of Toowoomba’s most respected and influential coeducational, boarding schools.
In 2007, the amalgamation of three Lutheran schools brought about yet another change in name and College Crest. Even more recently, our community agreed to unite our students and families across all campuses by forming new sporting houses in 2011.
Yet throughout our proud history, the essence of what makes a Lutheran education so special, as well as the true meaning of the Latin word Concordia has stood the test of time. The meaning of the word Concordia – "union and harmony" or "with heart" – has not only given rise to many Concordias – schools and universities throughout the world, but has also inspired our new CLC Motto: ‘With One Heart’.
Our shared Values as one College, which give emphasis to character traits such as respect, compassion, integrity and courage, are not only essential features of any successful community, but also reflect what it means to act with one heart.
Over the years, those new to our College have remarked that "It’s the feel" that makes the first impression such a memorable one. At times it has been described as … the intangible feeling of inclusion, compassion and enjoyment that you sense as soon as you walk through the door. With one heart we become one community, one College from Kindergarten to Year 12, one family and one Church.
