Welcome

John Paul College has gained a reputation for excellence in holistic education. Our academic, co-curricular and pastoral programs pave the way forward to create excellent opportunities for all of our fine students.

We have created an environment where learning is stimulating, fun and challenging. There are endless opportunities to explore and participate, where ultimately students feel happy, safe and respected.

There is a distinct sense of pride in wearing the burgundy and blue for all who are part of the John Paul College family.  To strengthen our practice as an ecumenical school, a comprehensive and deliberate strategic vision is a necessity.  We invite you to peruse our website and see why John Paul College will continue to be recognised as a leader in the education of young men and women.

To experience a typical day in the life of a John Paul College student, we invite you to visit during one of our Open Days and observe first-hand what makes John Paul College an excellent educational experience.

About Us

John Paul College is one of Queensland’s largest and most progressive private, independent, co-educational schools with a reputation for offering Kindergarten to Year 12 students a contemporary learning experience, supported by comprehensive co-curricular performing arts and sporting programs and a leading Notebook Computer Program.

Our campus is located in Daisy Hill, south-east of Brisbane and north of the Gold Coast.

Our aim is to develop well-balanced students who are real world ready. To ensure we deliver a consistently high standard of education to all age groups, our College is divided into a number of "schools within a school".

We have a strong sense of community and a proud sense of family. Our College focuses on mutual respect and provides students with the freedom to grow as individuals within our Christian ecumenical community.

Principal's Message

Welcome to John Paul College.

John Paul College is a family of unique individuals with children at its heart. Our collective goal is to build a better world in which every student is inpired to make a difference.

My priority is to unleash the unlimited potential that is within each child. Our dedicated staff nurtures each student's strengths and passions through a personally tailored educational journey.

With an engaging curriculum, a wide range of subject choices and one of Australia's largest co-curricular programmes, operating within a Christian ecumenical environment, John Paul College is a place where lifelong friendships are made.

John Paul College is highly accessible to many families. We have buses travelling throughout the Southern suburbs and the Bayside with additional services coming in 2017.

As your child embraces learning and explores their individuality, they are supported by a school which is not only a community, but the John Paul College Family.

Peter Foster, Headmaster

Development on our campus is guided by a Master Plan that has seen the recent completion major works including the addition of a Kindergarten, a Retail Centre, state-of-the-art Senior School Gorman Centre, the Stephen Paul Aquatic Centre, the Stephen Bowers Oval, Cashless Canteen, and the Stephen Mapstone Centre for Applied Design. Existing facilities have also been redeveloped and refurbished.
Ready for the journey

The John Paul College journey begins as early as Kindergarten when our youngest students begin to explore, questions, experiment and play.

This continues through the Junior School years with a blend of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Australian Curriculum, giving priority to foundation skills, knowledge and understanding in the context of a caring community.

Ready to challenge

Year 4 marks the beginning of the notebook computer program at the College, integrating technologies into a student's everyday learning environment.

Our specialist middle years' pastoral and learning programs aim to engage each student in learning while challenging them to grow. Building relationships and creating confidence helps to shape the person that is yet to be, recognising that academic progress during these early adolescent years depends on students feeling emotionally and socially connected.

Ready for tomorrow

Whatever their destination, we offer exceptional choice for our Senior students as they prepare for tomorrow and make decisions about life after school.

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, learning for life in our global community is very much a reality for our students. We aim to provide each child with an innovative education and internationally-oriented curriculum that delivers real world learning.

And with a variety of pathways to prepare them for the real world, our students really are REAL WORLD READY.

Ready for the spotlight Students are encouraged to participate in one of the most extensive co-curricular sporting programs of any Australian school, in a wide range of team and individual sports. The College maintains a proud record of sporting achievements, both nationally and internationally. John Paul College has also sustained an outstanding record of high achievement in the Performing Arts. Within the School of Performing Arts, students can participate in group or private instrumental, vocal, dance and drama lessons on a weekly basis. Each student's talent is further enhanced by involvement in an extensive and highly profiled performance program.
