At PLC, we develop inspiring women.

We offer unique and personalised programmes, designed to suit the differing needs of girls as they journey through our school.

About Us

At PLC we develop Inspiring Women.

We do this by focusing on our four key pillars; these form the foundation of the unique programmes designed to suit the differing needs of girls as they journey through our School.

  •  We personalise the learning for each girl, as we understand each of us needs different conditions to reach our potential. We help our girls find their strengths and passions, be they academic, sporting or cultural and support them with our individualised pastoral care and wellbeing programmes.
  •  As an organisation we are leaders; we also teach our girls how to be leaders by developing themselves and their leadership potential.
  •  Being successful requires courage and we promote this through our ‘have a go attitude’, which is central to life at PLC.
  •  Our community provides our girls with a place of belonging, where each girl is valued for her unique contribution. Our PLC family supports each other but also teaches the importance of ‘being of service’ to humanity at a local, national and international level.

Boarding at PLC is an incredibly special experience where our girls learn and grow in a safe and supportive environment they can call home. Girls from across Australia, and the world, build the culturally diverse PLC boarding community where girls learn about themselves, and each other, creating life-long friendships.

Our location gives the girls the opportunity to access all that Perth has to offer. The iconic Cottesloe Beach is a 20-minute walk from the Boarding House and can be enjoyed by the older students. For our younger boarders we run regular transport to and from the beach, providing supervision so girls can enjoy all that is on our doorstep. The banks of the Swan River are a five minute walk away, where the girls can easily access the PLC Rowing programme, relax on the grassy banks of the river or try their hand at using the Boarding House Stand Up Paddle Boards.

Having each girl feeling that she is known, cared for and valued as an individual is important to us. Our structures and programmes are designed to ensure this is achieved. Through their Senior School experience, girls can take risks in a safe and supported environment, develop resilience, discover their strengths and passions and grow to be young women of heart and soul.

As girls mature at different rates, their readiness for learning varies from one to another. Our classes are organised with the uniqueness of each individual in mind. Flexible groupings in Years 7 and 8 provide the opportunity for learning programmes to be targeted to each girl’s particular stage of development. Essentially, all girls undertake the same courses of study, with the pace being varied. Pre-testing at the beginning of a new aspect of learning enables us to re-group classes and to teach to the specific needs of the girls. They are able to move fluidly between groups according to their mastery. This means that every girl has every pathway open to her as she journeys through the school. There are no limits!
