Key Learning Areas are English, Mathematics, Science, Health and Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, German, The Arts (Music, Drama, Dance, Visual Arts) and Christian Studies. SSC Grounds 1

One of Toowoomba's Most Respected

Since its beginnings in 1946, as a school with an enrolment of only 27 students, our crest, our name, uniforms and mottos have changed variously, as we have grown to become one of Toowoomba’s most respected and influential coeducational, boarding schools.

In 2007, the amalgamation of three Lutheran schools brought about yet another change in name and College Crest. Even more recently, our community agreed to unite our students and families across all campuses by forming new sporting houses in 2011.

Yet throughout our proud history, the essence of what makes a Lutheran education so special, as well as the true meaning of the Latin word Concordia has stood the test of time. The meaning of the word Concordia – "union and harmony" or "with heart" – has not only given rise to many Concordias – schools and universities throughout the world, but has also inspired our new CLC Motto: ‘With One Heart’.

Our shared Values as one College, which give emphasis to character traits such as respect, compassion, integrity and courage, are not only essential features of any successful community, but also reflect what it means to act with one heart.

Over the years, those new to our College have remarked that "It’s the feel" that makes the first impression such a memorable one. At times it has been described as … the intangible feeling of inclusion, compassion and enjoyment that you sense as soon as you walk through the door. With one heart we become one community, one College from Kindergarten to Year 12, one family and one Church.
