St Andrews Lutheran College is a well-established P-12 school with a reputation for helping to develop young people of versatility, character and passion who can make a difference in the world.
As a Christian community, St Andrews focuses on providing more than an education….an education for good.
Students achieved fine academic results in 2011 including above State and National averages in all tests at all year levels in the NAPLAN TESTS and achieving 94.1% of students received an OP between 1 and 15 (one of the best in the State). Across the College students also put their gifts to use through service-learning partnerships with over 30 local and global organisations.
The Junior School is authorised to implement the Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate with its emphasis on inquiry-based learning, international-mindedness and student initiated action.
In the Middle School, students benefit from their personal connection with a small group of teachers in core subjects and the wide range of electives. Year 7 has introduced the use of i-Pads to enhance educational outcomes and academic engagement.
The Senior School staff freely offer extra tutorials for students who can undertake traineeships as well as university and extension subjects (English and Music).
The Arts precinct provides a focus for performances and exhibitions for a community that loves to celebrate and share its learning. Students achieve many awards in Drama, Dance, Music and the Visual Arts.
In Sport, students are making their mark in such sports as Swimming, Triathlons, Netball, Athletics, Cross-Country, Soccer, Futsal and Touch.
Students are encouraged to develop resilience and independence through participating in activities involving enterprise, adventure and physical challenge. A large number of students and staff enter the Kokoda Challenge each year and College teams have won the Schools Division consistently.
