St John Fisher College is a Catholic secondary girls’ College catering for Years 7 to 12 and is administered by Brisbane Catholic Education. It is located in Bracken Ridge, and attracts students from a wide area across the northern suburbs of Brisbane and surrounds. The College focuses on a holistic education with emphasis on the academic, spiritual, social, cultural, sporting and moral development of its students. There is strong sense of pastoral care that occurs naturally as part of a close and nurturing community.

Facilities include a chapel, modern air-conditioned library with flexible learning spaces, classrooms with access to technology, three computer laboratories as well as a laptop program, wireless access throughout the College, hospitality kitchen, textiles room, fully equipped art room, a learning enrichment centre, spacious grounds with multiple ovals, outdoor courts and an assembly hall including indoor sports and rock-climbing wall.
Subjects from Year 7 to 12 are diverse, stimulating and academically rigorous with an emphasis on inquiry based learning.

Senior students are able to choose from a comprehensive list of Authority subjects and Authority Registered subjects; combining these with VET programs should they choose. Students also have access to enrolment in first year university subjects, enrolment in TAFE certificates, school based traineeships and apprenticeships and work placement.

A number of co-curricular clubs and activities also support the curriculum. These include Homework Club, Assignment Help, Maths Mania (tutoring in Mathematics), Science Club, Sewing Tutorials, Greedy Readers (reading club) and Scribblers (writing club). These activities are well attended. It is a strong part of the culture for staff to be involved in helping students with their studies whenever they can.

There are groups and activities for every interest, including dance troupes, instrumental lessons, band, vocal lessons, vocal ensemble, theatre sports, drama, debating, talent quest, craft activities, Interact, social justice group and more. In addition, there is a diverse range social and competitive sporting activities including interschool volleyball, netball, basketball, touch football, soccer, AFL, swimming, athletics and cross country.
At St John Fisher College, a tradition exists of expressing our vision using the language of “the John Fisher Way”. This is a way of acting, speaking and behaving that encompasses our values. In practice, the John Fisher Way may be demonstrated by showing manners, taking pride in your appearance, having respect for self, others and their property, being responsible for one’s actions, having positive relationships with others, being inclusive and tolerant of others, performing acts of kindness, contributing to the community, doing your very best and treating others the way you wish to be treated. This language is interwoven through many daily interactions and throughout all aspects of College life.
The St John Fisher College Community
is inspired by God’s Spirit and
the Catholic faith tradition
to live, to love and to learn
with respect for truth,
the courage to seek justice,
the gift of peace
and the grace to forgive
as we respond with equal dynamism
to society’s challenges today and tomorrow.

Welcome to the St John Fisher College, a vibrant and compassionate community that promotes the values of respect, care, integrity, service, excellence and inclusiveness.

We are a Catholic secondary girls' College with a curriculum designed to prepare girls for a changing world. Our strong academic outcomes, with appreciation for vocational experiences, combine to give our students the best opportunity to success in further education and in life.

St John Fisher is a College of high expectations. Our goal is for all girls to realise their potential in a supportive and diverse learning environment, valuing the dignity and integrity of each individual.

We have a strong pastoral care focus, a wide variety of co-curricular activities and we expect all students to become involved in College life. We encourage girls to step out of their comfort zones, be problem solvers and future focussed. We offer opportunities and experiences that will allow all girls to explore their own gifts and talents. Feeling connected, protected and respected are key factors in building resilience and this is a key part of the St John Fisher College culture.

Our beautiful grounds and small student population mean that each student is known individually. We are proud of our extensive and evolving curriculum and of our staff who consistently display a commitment to excellence.

St John Fisher has a Sisters of Mercy foundation and we are proud to nurture the girls in this way of care for others, social justice and outreach.

Please explore our website, contact us for a tour and join us for special occasions such as Open Day and our annual Arts & Culture night, Illuminaré. You will find a vibrant and welcoming community.
