St John Fisher College is a Catholic secondary girls’ College catering for Years 7 to 12 and is administered by Brisbane Catholic Education. It is located in Bracken Ridge, and attracts students from a wide area across the northern suburbs of Brisbane and surrounds. The College focuses on a holistic education with emphasis on the academic, spiritual, social, cultural, sporting and moral development of its students. There is strong sense of pastoral care that occurs naturally as part of a close and nurturing community.
A number of co-curricular clubs and activities also support the curriculum. These include Homework Club, Assignment Help, Maths Mania (tutoring in Mathematics), Science Club, Sewing Tutorials, Greedy Readers (reading club) and Scribblers (writing club). These activities are well attended. It is a strong part of the culture for staff to be involved in helping students with their studies whenever they can.
St John Fisher is a College of high expectations. Our goal is for all girls to realise their potential in a supportive and diverse learning environment, valuing the dignity and integrity of each individual.
We have a strong pastoral care focus, a wide variety of co-curricular activities and we expect all students to become involved in College life. We encourage girls to step out of their comfort zones, be problem solvers and future focussed. We offer opportunities and experiences that will allow all girls to explore their own gifts and talents. Feeling connected, protected and respected are key factors in building resilience and this is a key part of the St John Fisher College culture.
St John Fisher has a Sisters of Mercy foundation and we are proud to nurture the girls in this way of care for others, social justice and outreach.
