Tranby College is an independent K-12 co-educational school community of the Uniting Church and is located in Baldivis, WA.

The community of Tranby College includes a Junior School (Kindergarten- Year 6) and Secondary School (Years 7-12). A child care centre is also on campus.

The College was founded in 1998 and was named after the brig Tranby which arrived in the Swan River Colony in February 1830 bringing a group of Methodist settlers to the fledgling community.

The Tranby College mission is to be an accessible and inclusive community in which student learning and wellbeing are the responsibilities of all members of our school community.

Underpinning Tranby College are its values:

  • Personal mastery
  • Breadth and depth of learning
  • Respect
  • Integrity
  • Service

Tranby College is a candidate school* for the Primary Years Programme. This school is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy-a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Tranby College believes is important for our students.

The IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) are Teaching and Learning frameworks, not curriculum frameworks. They accommodate the Australian Curriculum and provide an excellent preparation for students to engage in the WACE, VET or other programmes in the Tranby Senior School to maximise their individual aspirations and achievement. These frameworks, with our Strategic Plan, could comprise our School Improvement Plan that is a requirement for government funding.

Adopting the PYP and MYP is a significant step in moving towards an internationally recognised standard. The IBO authorisation and evaluation process means that the College's programme and teaching methodologies are audited against internationally established benchmarks. Additionally, our teachers have access to an international network of educators willing to share their practice.
The values that guide our practices are:
• Personal mastery: Encouraging, challenging and supporting ourselves to be the best we can be.
• Breadth and depth of learning: Our focus is robust learning that is intellectual, physical, social, emotional, moral, spiritual and aesthetic.
• Respect: Treating ourselves, others, our community and the environment with high regard and consideration.
• Integrity: Discerning what is right and what is wrong for our community and acting upon this understanding.
• Service: Standing alongside others and being prepared to encourage, support and empower.
