From our Principal
Congratulations to the Class of 2024
The Sacré Cœur community is proud of the Year 12 Class of 2024 whose collective efforts have been excellent. We extend our congratulations to each of our VCE students, including our Year 11 students who undertook the study of a Unit 3/4 subject.
Throughout the year, our students immersed themselves fully and joyfully in all aspects of school life at Sacré Cœur. The attitude of our VCE students also permeated their committed approach to their studies, which saw them remain focused and steadfast. With the firm support of their families along with that of their dedicated teachers, our students worked resolutely and with a shared purpose to realise their potential
Striving for excellence takes on countless forms at Sacré Cœur and our students are to be commended for their strength, courage and tenacity. This success and standard of excellence would not be possible without the cultivation of a love of learning imparted by teachers of the highest quality; I thank all our staff for their extraordinary level of investment in our students, and their expert guidance and passion.
With pride, we recognise the achievements of the Class of 2024 and extend our very best wishes to each of our students. I am confident they will undertake future endeavours with a strong sense of self and other, developed through their education at Sacré Cœur — an education through which the mind and heart are equally nurtured, where each student is supported to grow so that she is prepared to meet her future.
Adelina Melia-Douvos
Principal
Our brand-new STEAM learning centre — the St Madeleine Sophie Barat Centre — is a transformative space that celebrates our commitment to education in science, technology, mathematics and creative arts.
Known as the Sophie Centre, the building emphasises a cross-curricular approach, continuing Sacré Cœur’s historic ethos, which has always strived to create well-rounded, future ready young women.
Learning at all Levels
Students will move seamlessly between a range of modern, expansive spaces across multiple levels. The Sophie Centre features a multi-level Junior and Senior library, three light-filled science and technology laboratories, an inspiring creative arts hub, an amphitheatre, and numerous indoor and outdoor breakout learning spaces.
The crown of the Sophie Centre is a rooftop terrace with 270-degree views that serves as a breakout area for outdoor learning and a scenic setting for school functions.
Expansive Junior School Spaces
The Sophie Centre features a Junior School library and IT laboratory that will ignite our younger students’ passion for learning. Education also extends outside of the Sophie Centre — with inspiring new playground spaces and curated landscaping for our Junior School.

Eco Focused Design
The building is environmentally designed to meet 21st century standards. It features solar panels, use of rainwater, smart temperature control, motion-controlled LED lights, excellent ventilation and extensive windows for light filled learning.

Sacré Cœur is committed to the development of each student’s individual abilities to reach their highest potential.
