At Wesley, we believe in a True Education - one that realises the full potential of every girl and boy.
Our rich and comprehensive coeducational program promotes not only excellent academic results, but also supports students’ learning through a wide range of cocurricular programs, including Visual and Performing Arts, Sport, Music, Outdoor Education and Community Service.
Wesley College is a leading coeducational, open-entry school. Established over 150 years ago, the College has enriched the lives of thousands of students throughout its history.
At the heart of Wesley’s approach to education is our commitment to developing well rounded individuals who aspire to achieve their personal best in all areas of learning.
The College supports the development of every girl and boy from early childhood years through to Senior School, across 3 campuses.
- Elsternwick: 3 year olds to Year 9
- Glen Waverley: 3 year olds to Year 12
- St Kilda Road: 3 year olds to Year 12
In addition to providing an outstanding education within the classroom, we are also renowned for the real-life learning opportunities we offer our students, which include:
- A unique Year 9 residential program in Clunes
- 3 Outdoor Education Camps in Victoria – near Healesville, Paynesville and Portland
- A Studio School in the Kimberley, Western Australia
- A dynamic, new boarding facility, Learning in Residence
The Community College at Wesley provides for the myriad of activities that occur outside normal school hours. It offers a range of programs designed to support families, encourage individual learning and provide positive outcomes for the Wesley and broader community. Programs are available year round and are offered at all campuses and also the College’s Clunes and Outdoor Education sites.
The Wesley College Institute
An integral part of Wesley College, it harnesses creative competencies through connections with partners such as universities, community organisations and philanthropic groups. It encourages a culture of learning, reflection and connection in the College to advance educational practice and contribute to community debate.
The Institute has already been instrumental in a number of projects of national and international significance. Such opportunities allow Wesley staff to further their understanding of educational issues in both an academic and practical context, by undertaking projects on secondment. This places Wesley teachers at the forefront of international educational research.
The Wesley College Foundation
Since its establishment in 1866, Wesley College has relied on the generosity of its donors and benefactors- alumni, current parents, past parents and friends within the Wesley community - to enhance its facilities, develop its academic programs, fund the rich diversity of cocurricular and sporting activities, and increase the number of scholarships on offer.
The Wesley College Foundation was established in 1978 and is the vehicle that raises funds to assist the College with so much of its vital work that directly benefits every Wesley student. It seeks to inspire financial support through a comprehensive philanthropic program that includes raising funds for: buildings and facilities, scholarships, library, sport, the performing and visual arts, Yiramalay and The Wesley College Institute. It also promotes bequests through The Sapere Aude Bequest Society.
Wesley’s new boarding facility, Learning in Residence, is purpose built for Senior School students in Years 10 – 12, who come from metropolitan Melbourne, rural Australia, and international locations across Asia and Europe.
Learning in Residence builds on Wesley’s four fundamental principles of learning; learning to know, learning to do, learning to live with and learning to be, in the real-life context that living and learning in residence provides.
Now open for enrolment, Learning in Residence offers boarding options to suit every family:
