CCGS is a non-selective, independent day school for girls and boys from Kindergarten to Year 12, with first class facilities and on-site out of school hours and vacation care.

We’ve been educating tomorrow’s thought leaders, creators and community achievers since 1985, now under the leadership of our third Headmaster Bill Low since 2008.

We’re a truly comprehensive, high performing, not-for-profit independent school. We are governed by a Board of nine expert volunteers and guided by our strategic plan, Next Generation Teaching and Learning 2015-20.

Our new K to 6 junior school facility will open in 2021 and accelerate the school's capacity to deliver the next generation education at the heart of the it's strategic plan.

Hear from our Headmaster as he guides you through the design principles behind the new campus.

Next generation teaching and learning

At the core of the junior school architectural design are three buildings, one each for Years K to 2, 3 to 4 and 5 to 6. Flexible learning spaces flow into seven neighbourhoods - one for each year level - with a seamless transition onto landscaped gardens and terraces. Friendships can flourish in separate, secure and age appropriate outdoor play zones for each stage.

During the last four years the school has transformed its learning culture and implemented Harvard Education’s Teaching for Understanding Framework. This new facility will allow teachers to revolutionise teaching and learning.

Student centred learning environment

Next generation learning has driven every design decision for this new facility, resulting in a learning environment centred on students rather than classrooms. Adaptable furniture and learning spaces will give teachers the flexibility to facilitate individual focus, group projects and grade workshops according to different learning intentions and learning styles.

Each of the facility’s thirty light filled learning spaces will be fitted with cutting edge technological enhancements to individualise learning and connect students in exciting and absorbing real world scenarios.

All students will benefit as the project includes an outdoor junior assembly area, that will also serve as a sports grandstand and amenities, plus conversion of existing K to 2 rooms for senior school use.

The connection with Central Coast Grammar School by no means ends when a student graduates from school. Alumni come together regularly to share memories, network and continue friendships as their lives evolve with each passing year.

All students who have been enrolled at Central Coast Grammar School are automatically members of the PSA (Past Students’ Association).
