Welcome to Holy Family!

At our school,  learning occurs in an environment where students, parents and the school community share common goals and interact positively with one another to promote lifelong learning.

Diverse curricula activities initiated by a caring and dedicated team of professionals, well maintained grounds and facilities and parent involvement combine to offer excellent learning opportunities.

Holy Family is blessed with a dedicated and caring staff who have created a loving Christian environment that is the essence of Holy Family School. In this nurturing atmosphere learning is enhanced and upon graduating from Holy Family, the children have their Catholic faith and the academic skills to assist them successfully through their high school years.

Band Program

The Holy Family Band Program is an extra-curricular activity run by the Holy Family Band Parent Committee in cooperation with the school. The aim of the program is to provide musical enrichment complementary to the educational framework of the school. The program seeks to emphasise four important elements for our children: commitment, dedication, musical achievement and fun.

Sport

At Holy Family, students participate in a large number of sports. We are very lucky to have great opportunities to represent our school sport at North Shore Zone, Broken Bay level and beyond. Each term, through 'sporting school funding' we have sport available from outside organisations which help to heighten the sporting experience at Holy Family, Lindfield.

Our Broken Bay Diocese provides many opportunities to represent our school at Sport Gala Days, where students verse other schools from the Diocese in:

  • Netball
  • League Tag
  • Tennis
  • Soccer

In addition to this we also have Broken Bay Trials that run throughout winter and summer.  Students in Years 4-6, who play at a representative level for their local club, are encouraged to attend these trials.

Winter Trials:

  • AFL
  • League
  • Netball
  • Hockey
  • Soccer
  • Touch
  • Rugby Union

Summer trials:

  • Basketball
  • Tennis
  • Cricket
  • Softball

Participating in sports not only promotes physical well-being but also fosters teamwork, discipline, and a sense of community to the overall development of students.

At Holy Family Catholic Primary School we have a special responsibility to look after the academic, social, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing of all in our care.

Pastoral Care is foundational to who we are, what we do and why we do it. Our policy is based upon shared Catholic values through which families and staff work together to provide a positive supportive environment characterised by trust, cooperation and respect. We build strong and positive relationships which typify our Holy Family community.

Holy Family is a community that provides a strong sense of wellbeing, belonging and security where students are given every opportunity to be affirmed with dignity and worth and assisted to grow to the fullness of their potential. We acknowledge the right for all members of our community to feel safe.

Holy Family Catholic Primary School was founded in the Brigidine tradition, and the values and charism that Saint Brigid promoted are embedded into our Mission and Vision Statements. Throughout the school, we have shared values which provide staff, parents and children with the language to discuss behaviour in a consistent way.

Our Brigidine values are reflected in our school rules: Respect, Responsibility and to Learn. Our commitment to these values and rules therefore means that at Holy Family every child has the right to be safe and to feel safe. In all that we do we aim to develop confidence and competence in our students and encourage a real connection to their school and their community. These strengths allow them to face life-long challenges in a positive and resilient manner.

At Holy Family Catholic Primary School we foster strength and gentleness within our Christ Centred community.
We are committed to Catholic Discipleship, where the human dignity of all people is valued and respected.
We recognise the uniqueness of each individual and we are committed to excellence in teaching and learning.
We aim to:
1. Live strength and gentleness in our Christ Centred Community by:
• adopting the values of our faith community
• encouraging respectful relationships
• ensuring that individuals feel secure in their identity within the school
• nurturing the unique gifts and talents of all members in our community

2. Promote Catholic Discipleship through:
• proclaiming, witnessing and celebrating the Gospel message of Jesus Christ
• providing opportunities. through prayer and liturgy, for personal and communal response to God
• sharing knowledge and developing an appreciation of our Catholic history, traditions and rituals in a contemporary setting
• providing the Catholic community forum to educate our students about their faith
• acknowledging our place as part of Holy Family Parish, the Broken Bay Diocese and the wider Catholic Church

3. Build a culture where the Gospel values of trust, acceptance, dignity and respect are promoted by:
• living and celebrating these values
• acknowledging the heritage, traditions and beliefs of different cultures
• integrating these values into our policies and practices

4. Celebrate the uniqueness of each student by:
• modifying programs to cater for individual needs
• providing opportunities for students to participate in the broader life of the school
• acknowledge individual qualities and talents
• promoting tolerance and respect for individual differences

5. Promote excellence in teaching and learning by:
• providing opportunities for professional development
• sharing professional practices
• maintaining and building relevant and quality resources to enrich the curriculum
• supporting quality teaching and life long learning
• providing a learning environment that embraces different learning styles
• working in collaboration with parents

Our school is ideally located for transport. We are within walking distance of Lindfield Train Station, and buses run from Killara, Gordon, Chatwood, and East Lindfield.
