Welcome to Kimberley College and thank you for considering our school for your child. Our College is a happy and vibrant place, combining a nurturing environment, with extensive educational opportunities. A large part of what we do differently at Kimberley College is our approach to learning.

We understand that not all students learn in the same way. Indeed there is great diversity in the way children learn. However, by providing an environment that recognises and embraces their differences, we are able to maximise each individual’s potential. Our dedicated staff support differentiation in the curriculum, tailoring each student’s schooling experience according to their aptitude, to ensure the best outcomes for each individual student.  This means if your child loves to be extended we can easily offer this within our classroom structure.

At Kimberley College we work in partnership with you and your family to nurture, stimulate and challenge your child.  Our teachers have a strong belief in the need to develop moral and social intelligence in an environment which respects all religious and secular beliefs.

Welcome from the Principal.JPG

I warmly invite you to come and see what Kimberley College is all about and I look forward to welcoming your family into ours.

Nestled in a picturesque, semi-rural setting in Brisbane's Bayside, Kimberley College is recognised for developing students with integrity, social responsibility and confidence. We believe that education is more than a simple process of knowledge transfer, we are passionate about the future of our students and recognise that each student is an individual with infinite potential.

We believe that young people learn best when they have structure as well as space and time to foster creativity - time to think and grow. We think that learning should be inspirational, challenging and fun. We work hard to nurture our students’ unique gifts and needs within a supportive College community. Our Teachers are dynamic educators, passionate and knowledgeable about learning, with a strong understanding of contemporary, evidence-based teaching and learning practice.

The objectives of Kimberley College are to provide multi-age, non-graded education which incorporates a thinking skills based curriculum, to develop an individualised curriculum, to create a school environment which nurtures intellectual and moral autonomy, and to nurture self-respect and self confidence in students.

Every person at Kimberley College has the right to a strong sense of belonging. This occurs when each person has the opportunity to express themselves and to learn to appreciate others whilst treating others with respect and being treated fairly. It also occurs when each person knows our school provides a safe environment for them to create their own identity within a community that values diversity and promotes equity.

The school has a non-exclusive enrolment policy. Teachers have a strong belief in the need to develop moral and social intelligence in an environment which respects all religious and secular beliefs.

PRIVATE BUS SERVICE

Kimberley College provides a private bus service for our current students that covers a large part of South Brisbane and the northern end of the Gold Coast.

RollCall-logo-sml-02.png

To assist us with managing our bus services the College utilises an online bus management system called RollCall, where students use their Student ID Card to tap on and off the bus.  With this system, families are able to manage their children’s travel experience with benefits such as:

  •              Notification when your child taps on and off the bus

  •              Ability to view the bus travelling its route in real time via the RollCall App

  •              To notify the bus driver if your child won’t be catching the bus

  •              To manage payment of travel

For more information of our current bus routes please click on the routes listed below.

If you have any further enquiries regarding our bus service please contact us directly on transport@kimberley.college
