Established in 1897, Loreto Normanhurst is a leading Sydney, Catholic, independent day and boarding school for girls from Years 5-12, with boarding for girls from Years 7-12, mainly from country NSW and the Sydney basin.
Ms Marina Ugonotti is Principal of Loreto Normanhurst. She has a love of learning and working with young people and is committed to delivering the school’s strategic vision of a faith-centred, person-centred and ecology-centred school.
Located on Sydney’s leafy Upper North Shore, the school is set in spacious grounds of over 25 acres, on the edge of bushland, with beautiful ovals and a large sporting and aquatic complex. An oasis set back from bustling Pennant Hills Road, the school is very accessible and is well serviced by a private bus service and public transport, both train and bus.
A full-time boarding model is at the core of Loreto Normanhurst boarding which also incorporates full flexibility on weekends. For city-based and country boarders alike, this means boarding all week with greater access to weekend time with family and friends. Furthermore, as part of the school’s 30-year Master Plan, a new, state-of-the-art boarding school will open in 2022.
At our school, relationships and learning are of equal importance. The Loreto Normanhurst Student Growth Model (LNSGM) is an award-winning model of education which develops students holistically in the areas of Faith, Academic, Community and Extra-curricular (FACE curriculum). A Loreto Normanhurst education assists our students to be young women who are passionate about learning, compassionate to others and have a strong sense of faith and social direction which underpins their values to achieve their personal best and guides their decision making. We aim to encourage our students to be lifelong learners who are curious and critical thinkers with a broad vision for the future. The success of the model in the academic realm is evident in the school's strong results with the School receiving a First Place in Course, 10 Top Achievers and 16 All-round Achievers in the 2019 HSC.
Immersed in an education grounded by the Loreto values of Felicity, Justice, Freedom, Sincerity and Verity, our students will transition into the world beyond Loreto with these values as their educational and moral compass.
