Great heights have been reached this year in Aerospace at St Columban’s College Caboolture. With the recent delivery of a 1963 Beach Craft Musketeer aircraft and the established partnerships with leading industry players QANTAS, Airbus, Aviation Australia and QG Air the College is well underway for delivering an authentic enriched Aerospace program and Aerospace Faculty in 2020.
The delivery of the Beechcraft Musketeer is in time for the launch of the newly established StC Aero Club, which will see students having access to industry experts in the field of engineering, maintenance and aircraft building and design. Every two weeks students will be working on restoring the newly purchased aircraft. The College is most fortunate to have established connections within industry, this will form a group of expert mentors including a Licence Aircraft Maintenance Engineer from QANTAS, Airbus A380 Captain and a QANTAS Pilot, all which are willing to donate their time and expertise on a fortnightly bases. It is envisaged these mentors will also act as career mentors for the Aviation minded students at St Columban’s College.

I feel privileged to be able to lead such a fine College. St Columban’s has a rich tradition, dynamic and inclusive spirit, and a strong sense of community.
The staff display a commitment which is exemplary. I am impressed with the sincerity, generosity and willingness of students to respond to issues. They show a strong sense of social justice and emulate values of leadership needed for the society of the future in the 21st century.
The College has many different programs and caters to a broad range of needs. It has high expectations of students and forms a partnership with students and their families. This learning partnership gives ownership to the students in a context of respect and shared vision of best possible outcomes.
Students are encouraged to reach potential and to step out of their comfort zones. Standards of excellence are set in all areas and students will be challenged to apply themselves diligently - leading programs in technology, academic and vocational excellence are set for our students. Our College program embraces the performing arts and provides opportunities for performance and expression. It also has a strong tradition of participating in TAS interschool sport on Saturday mornings with a very dedicated sporting department.
The celebration of mission and faith at St Columban’s College is reflected in its support and partnerships with disadvantaged groups, outreach to those in need and a wonderful retreat and liturgy program in the spirit of its charism of Edmund Rice. The Christian Brothers who founded the College are truly respected in the surrounds anchored in the beauty and spirituality of the Community Chapel. Love and concern for others underpin our core Christian values. The community includes strong networks of past students, parents, friends and supporters, who all feel very proud to be a part of such a unique and alive Catholic educational institution.
I would welcome you to explore this website and invite you to visit us in our beautiful environmental setting and experience the charm of St Columban's College.
