Alphington Grammar School, Alphington VIC
Alphington Grammar School (AGS) is an independent school located in the leafy heart of Melbourne’s north-eastern suburbs. Our community-minded, culturally rich learning environment inspires students to aspire to pursue excellence in all they do.
Valuing our multicultural school community and ‘global thinking’ is key to an AGS education. With specialised programs that take students around the globe, we instill in students a strong sense of their part in the world, their history and culture, and how they can contribute in the future.
AGS students receive a highly personalised education. Individuals can flourish academically and develop their social and emotional skills without getting ‘lost in the crowd’. As a result, the confidence, personal development, and outlook of AGS students is outstanding.

Whereas other schools teach multiculturalism, we live it. AGS is a genuinely multicultural Australian school with a true global focus. Our community encompasses some 30 ethnic backgrounds – representing a remarkable blend of cultures and beliefs.
AGS is a non-denominational school that helps students develop a sense of self-belief, critical thinking skills, and independence of mind that enables them to mature into responsible citizens ready for the challenges they encounter. Respect and trust is central to an AGS education. We place great importance on developing students’ understanding of what it means to be part of a strong community.
