Established in 1929, Brigidine College is an all girls' Catholic secondary college; a centre of faith and learning where strong life-giving relationships empower our young women with confidence and hope.

The College has a proven record of strong academic achievements and a range of curriculum pathways to meet the diverse learning needs and career aspirations of students.  Integrated eLearning enables students to discern and critique how best to learn and create for the future.

The exciting new Middle Years Learning Centre provides young adolescent girls with integrated learning options that deepen and enrich literacy, numeracy and digital skills across all areas.

Extensive cocurricular opportunities, integrated wellbeing and social justice programs support and challenge students on their learning journeys to become strong and gentle women in the tradition of the Brigidine Sisters.

Brigidine College is the only independent Year 5-12 girls’ Catholic College in the Brigidine tradition in Brisbane. Founded in 1929 and located at Indooroopilly, just 8km from the CBD, Brigidine has an outstanding reputation for high-quality teachers, a welcoming community and alumnae who have carved out meaningful careers locally and internationally.

You are invited to visit Brigidine College, to see for yourself the opportunities available for your daughter.

Learning takes many forms and involvement in activities beyond the classroom can build resilience, broaden potential and balance the educational experience.

Students can be involved in social justice activities, outreach projects and community service groups, which not only raise awareness but support and build connections with the broader community in practical ways.

The extensive sporting, cultural and higher order thinking programs also provide inclusive options to develop individual skills, teamwork and pathways to excellence at school and beyond.

* STEM activities offer exciting opportunities and challenges for girls interested in Science, Engineering and Maths.
* Strong community links: The College is the venue for the Australian Girls' Choir (AGC). We have links with the local Interact chapter, St Vincent de Paul and other community service groups. Our students have access to the equipment and expertise of the Centenary Rowing Club, which enables our athletes to row under the Brigidine banner.
We follow the example of St Brigid, a woman of vision and courage, who actively challenged the social, political and cultural structures of her time.

We commit ourselves to the education and empowerment of young women within the framework and challenge of Catholic philosophy.

In living our vision, we will:
Be faithful to our relationship with God in Jesus Christ.
Engender a love of learning, hope and a sense of purpose.
Celebrate the uniqueness of each person in our community through justice and service.
Welcome all people in the Brigidine tradition of 'Strength and Gentleness'.

Enjoy this reflection from one of our Brigidine dads:

My daughter just graduated from Brigidine College and I wanted to pass on my thanks to the Principal Mr Brendan Cahill and every member of staff. From my perspective Brigidine College is without peer. It provided my daughter a caring and nurturing environment during her formative years for which I will always be deeply grateful. The school's values are an integral part of her life now. From my daughter’s perspective ...well, she simply loved everything about the school, its teachers and her fellow students. It was as much family as it was an education and it definitely inspired both her mind and spirit. Brigidine College is an amazing place. Thank you for the incredible job you're doing.

Parent of recent Year 12 Graduate

Dr Amanda Rojek, 2012 Rhodes Scholar and Senior of 2003, continues to inspire a new generation of young Brigidine women. On her most recent visit, she said:

"You choose your future.  It doesn't matter what OP you get.  You are already incredible (Brigidine) women who will change the world.  Just work hard and follow your passions."

Principal's Image

Brigidine College provides an outstanding education for young women from the western suburbs of Brisbane, as it continues a long tradition of academic excellence, enrichment and engagement in ‘Learning for Life.’

Like all schools associated with Kildare Ministries (PJP), we value each person and recognise creation as sacred. Our College is a place where hope, justice and courage are hallmarks, and where we continue to interpret the Brigidine Sister’s faith ethos of Strength and Gentleness for our contemporary community.

In 2024, our College Community embraces the opportunity to reflect on the College theme of  ‘hope – bringing a sense of purpose’. To connect our spiritual, personal, social and intellectual selves in the imagination and energy of our young women.

Our sense of purpose to educate in faith will build a strong learning community into the future.

May 2024 be a rewarding year for everyone.

A Naoimh Bhrid, gui Orainn.
