Chisholm Catholic College embodies those deeper values at the heart of a Catholic Education - the highest standard of academic excellence, strong parent partnerships and the blessing of knowledge leading students to envisage the future with hope and promise.  Chisholm Catholic College provides a Christ-centred education, setting high expectations for its students.  In a context of visiable learning, these expectations embrace self-discipline and self-motivation as the pillars for student success.  The College works in close partnership with parents and strives to provide students with what they need in order to flourish at school and be successful in their global future.

e-STEAM Academy:  In 2019 Chisholm Catholic College will be offering an opportunity for talented students in the Middle School to join the Fastrack eSTEAM Academy.

The e-STEAM Academy - is a selective academic talent development programme - is designed as an individaully paced and enriched inter-disciplinary programme for extending gifted and talented students in the Middle School.  General capabilities are at the core of its curriculum and teachers and students work in partnership with the community for 21st century learning.

Places in the e-STEAM Academy are limited and are suitable to gifted and talented students who are independent learners.  They are profiled through a selective identification process, quantitative recommendations and/or in-class observations.  Each year, qualifying students are invited through the Learning Enhancement Department.

If your son or daughter meets the requirements of our Academic Talent Development Programme and would like to be part of this inclusive group of like-minded individuals, please contact the college directly on (07) 3209 0700 or email scornubia@bne.catholic.edu.au for more information.

SEDA - Sporting Excellence & Development Academy:  The Chisholm Sporting Excellence & Development Academy (SEDA) is an excellence program that promotes a culture of of high performance and allows students to excel in their sporting, educational and personal development.  The SEDA program offers training, development and competition for students with exceptional skill and ability in Football (Soccer), Basketball, Netball and Rugby League.

Parent Engagement Program

The intention of the Parent Engagement Program is to form positive connections between Chisholm Catholic College and the wider community.  The Program is a synthesis of the Library, IT, Spirituality and Welfare Teams working together to provide the community with a holistice range of events and activities ranging from Parent Book Clubs, Library and IT information sessions, Parent Prayer/Coaching and Liberation Letters.

Liberation Letters

Liberations Letters is a group of students who assist those in the community who struggle with literacy.  The students have been attending Woodridge Central to assist people, primarily refugees, in further developing their speaking and writing skills.  This includes creating resumes and cover letters and providing printed copies, stamps and envelopes to send their work to employers.  The Liberation Letters program will now be held at the college from Term 3, 2018 to provide services to people closer to home.  The Program started 4 years ago to provide students with a way of making a real difference in the community with a focus on boosting employment skills.  The Program was inspired by College patron, Caroline Chisholm, who worked with young women in Australia's early years of settlement to help them develop necessary life skills to live in another country.  Caroline Chisholm helped them integrate and find their feet, which is exactly what Liberation Letters endeavours to do also.

Chisholm Catholic College runs two Bus services, servicing the Rochedale/Springwood/Daisy Hill/Shailer Park area and the Mount Cotton/Redland Bay areas.  Enquiries regarding these bus services can be made with the College.

Translink bus services also service the College daily.  Timetables and Routes are available through the Translink website.

Pope Francis has said “to educate is an act of love, it is to give life. And love is demanding. It calls for using the best resources, for awakening passions and for great patience …Young people are in need of quality teaching, together with values not just enunciated but witnessed”.

Chisholm Catholic College is a school which displays the deeper meaning of a Catholic Education – the highest standard of academic excellence, pastoral care and opportunities to shine – which will lead your child to a bright tomorrow, full of hope and promise.

Our College provides a Catholic education, not just an education for Catholics. We set high expectations of self-discipline and self-motivation for our students. We work in partnership with  the home environment as we strive to give students what they need to flourish at school and be successful in their global future.

Our College is a bright and vibrant faith community. Our mission to ‘Live Christ’s Challenge’ clearly sets out for us a path of pursuit. As a College community we pursue learning, faith, love, kindness, justice and integrity. To ‘Live Christ’s Challenge’ means not to be superior to others but to be superior to oneself, to recognise that the best of you lives inside you and there is more you can be.

Chisholm Catholic College understands education. We know how to cater for the needs of different learners, how to extend exceptional learners and how to support students who require additional assistance.

Our College recognises that for a successful tomorrow, our young people need a core belief, a sense of hope, opportunities to shine, to be recognised and extended…And then they will flourish. Our signature, however, will be what the students of Chisholm do as a result of the values they learnt here at our school. Will we send young people of integrity out into the wider world? Young people who have achieved their best, who have self-confidence, a sense of justice, a recognition of the needs of others, care for the earth, possess an ability to think critically and act wisely, and love their fellow human beings? It’s a tall order, but we think we can do it!

If you have any questions about how your family could fit into the Chisholm Catholic College family, we’d be delighted to speak with you.

Yours sincerely,

Damian Bottaccio
