Hills International College is a co-educational, Prep to Year 12 Independent International school of approximately 500 students, offering unique educational opportunities in an environment where language, culture and activities are shared.

Hills displays many characteristics which make it unique. We are committed to providing quality academic and sporting facilities where all students have the opportunity to excel.  Above all, Hills is an extremely friendly school where new students are made to feel genuinely welcome.

Co-curricular activities allow students to develop into well-rounded and multi-skilled individuals. They provide opportunities for students to try new things and to be challenged in a range of new areas.  Co-curricular activities can also develop social skills by encouraging students to interact with one another.  Research shows that co-curricular activities increase self-esteem in individuals.

At Hills College and in Secondary, our activities are developing. Currently we have students involved with our upcoming Drama Production which will be presented to the community on August 27th and 28th this year. Students from Year 5 through to Year 12 are involved with this production; ‘Law and Order: Fairy Tale Unit’. Rehearsals in Term 1 are on Mondays 3:30-5pm. We look forward with great anticipation to this upcoming Hills College Production.

Our Volleyball programme has commenced at Hills College on our new multi-purpose courts which were built by the College with assistance from our wonderful Parents and Friends Committee.

Students have been supported with a course they commenced in 2020, and this year they are continuing to improve specialised skills, game fitness, coordination and knowledge.

Secondary Volleyball training will occur every Monday afternoon 3:30pm – 5:00pm. All students are able to attend. We look forward to building greater capacity and interest with this sporting opportunity.

The happy memories of boarding at Hills College will last a lifetime!  Your child will establish relationships which span decades and continents, and the shared learning and growth experienced by those who board with us is one of the highlights of each year.

Your child will establish relationships with other students of diverse nationalities, cultures, ages, and interests. The on-site boarding team will care for your child and with the guidance of the Hills College Wellbeing team will assist your child with their education, development, daily living, emergencies, or personal matters that arise.

Your child is required to complete regular study sessions during the school week; staff work with them to ensure each student is able to manage their learning in a timely manner.  Our staff will work with your child to develop their sense of personal integrity and diligence; your child will be encouraged to maintain their personal living space and to achieve a high standard of personal presentation.

The Boarding environment allows groups of students a degree of privacy, but with the advantages of communal living.  Activities and excursions allow students the chance to socialise and relax outside of school hours.

Students may be eligible for scholarships – both at the time of enrolment, and annually as ongoing students.

At Hills, Scholarships are available for students from Prep to Year 12 based on attitude and effort towards learning. Hills College acknowledge that not all students may qualify for academic scholarships based solely on grades, but we want to help families enrol by offering ‘attitude and effort’ scholarships to access a quality and personalised education.  We believe that students thrive in a positive and engaging learning environment, and we want to give children in our community that opportunity.

Academic Scholarships are also available for student in Years 8 to 12.

Hills International College is a wonderful place to lead. I am blessed that I have been given the opportunity to be Principal of Hills since 2010 – the Place To Belong. The sense of community at the school is very special – it is a place where teachers, staff, parents and students combine to provide a supportive place to learn.

Hills International College displays many characteristics which make it unique. We are committed to providing quality academic and sporting facilities where all students have the opportunity to excel in an environment where language, culture and activities are shared. By enabling young people of different cultures to mix and learn from each other, the College is preparing a new generation of genuinely global citizens.

We maintain a policy of reasonable class sizes, and parents are encouraged to maintain contact with the College. As a result of this, we are able to identify students’ strengths and weaknesses quickly, and take steps to remedy and/or extend them intellectually. Parents are welcome to make an appointment at any time to see relevant teachers or Heads of Department to discuss any concerns, or to get extra feedback on their child.

Above all, Hills is an extremely friendly school where new students are made to feel genuinely welcome. We are able to provide students with more personalised care and attention; a fact evidenced by our confident and self-assured student body.

The College motto “A Place To Belong” and the student charter outlines the school values :

Live with Compassion
Act with Integrity
Work with Diligence
Strive for Success

Please contact the school for your individual tour of the College with me. I am always happy to show prospective parents and visitors our wonderful campus, caring teachers, and amazing students.
