JPC Makes a Difference

There is a deep sense of pride in wearing the burgundy and blue for all who are part of the John Paul College (JPC) Family. Built by the community for the community, our values are defined in our school motto Unity | Christ | Learning and remain as strong today as they were when we first opened in 1982.

Located 20 minutes south of Brisbane's CBD, the JPC campus features extensive natural bushland and modern facilities to support a cutting-edge technology program and wide-ranging cultural and sporting opportunities. JPC's close proximity to the CBD ensures convenient and local bus routes are available in your local area for students.

JPC delivers a contemporary co-educational curriculum grounded in traditional values from Early Learning to Year 12. Our students are at the heart of all we do, and this is reflected in our purpose: To Educate, To Inspire, To Make a Difference.

We know that being prepared for the future - setting goals, choosing a pathway, overcoming obstacles and conquering challenges - gives your child a head start for their life ahead. JPC presents your child with the ultimate preparation for that future, for the pursuit of their future self. We are proud to help prepare our students for their personal quest to change the world, to make a difference.

Our learning community provides your family with the opportunity to reach their individual potential for living a contributing and fulfilling life, one where Christian Ecumenism is foundational, where our values are embraced, where mutual respect demands a hospitality that reaches out and welcomes people of all cultures and faiths, and where excellence in every endeavour is sought and applauded.

To help you realise your child's goals, we offer a wide range of subjects and VET pathways to explore. We continually strive to tailor an individual journey for each one of our students with the delivery of our Academic Welfare programs which support and aid students in all aspects of their social, academic and co-curricular journeys.

Ready for the journey

The John Paul College journey begins as early as Kindergarten when our youngest students begin to explore, questions, experiment and play.

This continues through the Junior School years with a blend of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Australian Curriculum, giving priority to foundation skills, knowledge and understanding in the context of a caring community.

Ready to challenge

Year 4 marks the beginning of the notebook computer program at the College, integrating technologies into a student's everyday learning environment.

Our specialist middle years' pastoral and learning programs aim to engage each student in learning while challenging them to grow. Building relationships and creating confidence helps to shape the person that is yet to be, recognising that academic progress during these early adolescent years depends on students feeling emotionally and socially connected.

Ready for tomorrow

Whatever their destination, we offer exceptional choice for our Senior students as they prepare for tomorrow and make decisions about life after school.

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, learning for life in our global community is very much a reality for our students. We aim to provide each child with an innovative education and internationally-oriented curriculum that delivers real world learning.

And with a variety of pathways to prepare them for the real world, our students really are REAL WORLD READY.
Ready for the future

John Paul College is set on a 35 hectare campus located in Daisy Hill, on the south-side of Brisbane.

To help our students reach their full potential, in whatever their chosen profession may be, JPC provides a variety of pathway options through our Career Development Centre.

The College works to ensure that every student has a viable academic pathway that leads to post-school study or the workplace through a comprehensive curriculum offering. Across all year levels, more than 110 subjects are available for students to select their own unique pathway through our Secondary School. This includes 33 courses that contribute towards a student's Queensland Certificate of Education and nine Vocational Education Certificates in four industry areas.

Our Head of Careers and Pathways and our Vocational Education and Training Program Co-ordinator offer students individualised career counselling guidance and advice. Our parents and students have an opportunity to attend various group information sessions or personal appointments to access career testing and assessment and professional support.

Whether our students are destined for further study, a traineeship/apprenticeship, or employment, our staff will help them make appropriate choices to design their personalised pathway to achieving their goals. This will include providing students with opportunities for work experience to assist them to develop an understanding of their own personal strengths and identify their passions and purpose.

Since 1982, we have built a College and a culture in which we demonstrate care for each other – for people both in and beyond our community.

As a Christian Ecumenical College founded on the motto, Unity | Christ | Learning, we remain true to these in 2024.

Daily, we can see it through the interactions of students across the College as they reach out to help each other. It can be seen in our Year 12 classmates when they visit the classes of younger students or when an older accomplished musician takes the time to play in a beginner band and encourage the younger students.

We are a unique College. To have students from more than 45 different nationalities is a remarkable reflection of the broader Australian population and I am intensely proud of our harmonious and compassionate JPC Family as we respect and nurture our multi-faith community.

We know that parent and broader family involvement in the life of each student makes a difference in the manner in which he or she integrates into school life and also has an impact on their academic outcomes. Parents who are interested and engaged in their child’s schooling, help support that young person to get the best out of their schooling journey. As a College, we want to partner with you to ensure that your child or children take full advantage of the extensive opportunities offered by the College and that they embrace the academic life of our school, with energy, focus and commitment.

We are a College that is serious about academic outcomes. Our rich and diverse co-curricular program provides a quality and balanced all-round approach to our educational offering. Our students are at the heart of all we do, and this is reflected in our purpose; To Educate, To Inspire, To Make a Difference.

JPC delivers a contemporary co-education grounded in traditional values.JPC delivers a contemporary co-education grounded in traditional values.
