JPC Makes a Difference

There is a deep sense of pride in wearing the burgundy and blue for all who are part of the John Paul College (JPC) Family. Built by the community for the community, our values are defined in our school motto Unity | Christ | Learning and remain as strong today as they were when we first opened in 1982.

Located 20 minutes south of Brisbane's CBD, the JPC campus features extensive natural bushland and modern facilities to support a cutting-edge technology program and wide-ranging cultural and sporting opportunities. JPC's close proximity to the CBD ensures convenient and local bus routes are available in your local area for students.

JPC delivers a contemporary co-educational curriculum grounded in traditional values from Early Learning to Year 12. Our students are at the heart of all we do, and this is reflected in our purpose:

An unwavering commitment to educate and develop exceptional individuals who courageously enrich society.

We know that being prepared for the future - setting goals, choosing a pathway, overcoming obstacles and conquering challenges - gives your child a head start for their life ahead. JPC presents your child with the ultimate preparation for that future, for the pursuit of their future self. We are proud to help prepare our students for their personal quest to change the world, to make a difference.

Our learning community provides your family with the opportunity to reach their individual potential for living a contributing and fulfilling life, one where Christian Ecumenism is foundational, where our values are embraced, where mutual respect demands a hospitality that reaches out and welcomes people of all cultures and faiths, and where excellence in every endeavour is sought and applauded.

To help you realise your child's goals, we offer a wide range of subjects and VET pathways to explore. We continually strive to tailor an individual journey for each one of our students with the delivery of our Academic Welfare programs which support and aid students in all aspects of their social, academic and co-curricular journeys.

Primary School:

A JPC Primary School education is not simply about mastering the curriculum but keeping alive a child’s innate sense of wonder, showing children that learning is an adventure worth pursuing.

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) focusses on the development of the whole child, offering a framework to meet the academic, cultural, physical, social and spiritual development of each person. The inquiry-based approach equips students with a unique global outlook and promotes subject depth and breadth.

The PYP is a structured, purposeful and planned inquiry that actively engages children. Our Primary School focuses on developing students who are motivated by the wonder of learning.

Secondary School:

We recognise that students are individuals, with individual needs. The challenge all schools face is to offer learning programs that engage students at all stages of their life. At John Paul College our teaching and learning environment offers an exceptionally broad range of opportunities that will motivate and encourage students.

We cater for all levels of ability and allow students to explore their own specific interests. In addition, students develop strong relationships with their teachers who get to know them really well and are able to give them opportunities to be successful in their learning. In the Secondary School at JPC, we strive to meet these challenges.

Students are increasingly given opportunities to choose subjects they have a particular interest in. These range from highly academic courses through to vocational courses, traineeships and apprenticeships. Whatever pathway a student takes, the overwhelming majority of our students choose to go on to further tertiary education when they leave school.
John Paul College is set on a 35 hectare campus located in Daisy Hill, on the south-side of Brisbane.

Features of our campus include landscaped gardens and wireless networked contemporary buildings, purpose-built to meet the needs of our students and the wider College community.

Our state-of-the-art facilities include a fully-heated 10 lane swimming pool, an indoor sporting complex with sprung floor, modern air-conditioned classrooms, world-class sporting ovals, early learning centre and outside hours school care (OHSC) for busy families, and a retail centre for uniform and book purchases.

The College offers students a range of support services such as learning enhancement, chaplaincy and IT support.

Development on our campus is guided by a Master Plan that has seen the recent completion major works including the addition of a Kindergarten, a retail centre, state-of-the-art Senior School Gorman Centre, the Stephen Paul Aquatic Centre, the Stephen Bowers Oval, cashless canteen, and the Stephen Mapstone Centre for Applied Design. Existing facilities have also been redeveloped and refurbished.

Students are encouraged to participate in one of the most extensive co-curricular sporting programs of any Australian school, in a wide range of team and individual sports. The College maintains a proud record of sporting achievements, both nationally and internationally.

John Paul College has also sustained an outstanding record of high achievement in the Performing Arts. Within the School of Performing Arts, students can participate in group or private instrumental, vocal, dance and drama lessons on a weekly basis. Each student's talent is further enhanced by involvement in an extensive and highly profiled performance program.

Life, learning and belonging in a true village atmosphere. Students come to JPC from across Australia and the world to join our boarding program which provides boutique, village-style accommodation nestled in native bushland adjacent to the main campus.

The College offers one of the lowest staff-to-student ratios of any Australian boarding school, reflecting the value we place on the safety and wellbeing of students entrusted to our care.

Accommodation is provided in villas which house eight students in four twin-share bedrooms, each bedroom with its own bathroom. A communal kitchenette and lounge encourage shared conversations for villa residents.

Offering increased privacy and independence, all villas are equipped with swipe pass security technology and are within immediate proximity of staff accommodation.
