Why Lowther Hall?

We provide a supportive and empowering environment that encourages girls to become the best version of themselves. From Kindergarten to Year 12, we are dedicated to helping every girl achieve her full potential

We support our girls to achieve academic excellence while at the same time developing a set of values that will help them to live full, happy and successful lives beyond the school gates

Girls Only Education

Lowther Hall is proudly an all-girls school, where we believe that a single-sex environment allows our students the space to build the confidence and skills necessary for success in the adult world

Our Community

At Lowther Hall, a strong sense of community is central to everything we do. Our past and present students, parents, staff, and friends of the school all play a meaningful role in shaping and enriching our school environment.

Our Results

We are an open entry school, yet each year our students’ achievements are among the highest in the state. This reflects not only the focus, dedication and professionalism of our teachers, but also our culture of academic excellence and our holistic approach to learning.

Lowther Hall has more than 100 years of experience in educating girls. We are a diverse, open-entry school of 900 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

Our intimate environment on a single campus in the heart of Essendon positions us to know our students and cater for them from their very first day.

We seek to be a school that educates the whole person for the whole of life, helping each girl to develop personal qualities and values that will equip her for a happy and successful adult life.

All of our teachers, support staff and student leaders work towards realising this goal of providing a holistic educational experience for every girl.

At Lowther Hall, we see our role as broader than the provision of a leading-edge curriculum. We pride ourselves on supporting and challenging each student to achieve her best and assisting her to explore a wide range of academic disciplines and co-curricular pursuits.

In our inclusive and caring school community, we help our girls develop a set of values that will guide them to live fulfilling, happy, and successful lives beyond school.

By nurturing these values, we provide a strong foundation that not only supports their personal growth but also contributes to their academic excellence.
