MLC's unmatched breadth of learning and wellbeing experiences and environments inspires and supports our students to find and nurture their individual interests and talents, forge their own paths and achieve their best.
The contemporary and broad curriculum and extensive wellbeing programs offered at MLC engages all students to be independent, creative and adaptive thinkers. Internationally recognised for our extensive curriculum choice and outstanding academic results, MLC offers multiple academic pathways in Senior School - the VCE, VCE VET (Vocational Education and Training) with significant work-ready programs and IB (International Baccalaureate).
MLC fosters a consistently high academic performance culture. In 2020, 11% of our students achieved an ATAR of 99+ and 54% achieved over 90. 21 perfect VCE study scores were achieved, the second-highest in the state.
We are one of Australia's most successful IB schools, with our cohorts achieving at least one perfect score every year for the past twelve years. In 2020, 20% of Australia's perfect IB scores were achieved by MLC students, an exceptional achievement.
MLC is fortunate to have easy public transport options and is only 7 km from the Melbourne CBD.
The route 16 tram stops directly outside of MLC on Glenferrie Road, and connects to many other tram routes including routes 70, 72, 75 and 109. Glenferrie Railway Station is an easy 10 minute walk down the road, serviced by the Belgrave/Lilydale/Alamein lines, which includes quick direct access to the Melbourne CBD.
We are also part of the Panorama Kew-based independent schools bus network, with four routes servicing the north and north-east suburbs directly to MLC.

MLC has long been one of Australia’s leading independent girls’ schools with an illustrious history and a long-standing tradition for innovation, unrivalled opportunity and academic excellence.
We pride ourselves on being an open-entry school with a diverse community – truly reflecting our global society as well as recognising the considerable range of interests and aptitudes that our students demonstrate.
The strength of any community is dependent upon the individuals. At MLC we are unashamed in our commitment to quality teaching, with our staff being passionate, supportive and experts in their fields. With a strong culture of ongoing professional research and development, our staff are also continuously learning alongside our students.
One of MLC’s most defining differences is being a large and well-resourced girls’ school. Offering one of the broadest curricula of any independent school, subject variety is a hallmark of an MLC education – from trying new electives in Year 8 through to over 60 subjects across VCE, VCE VET and the IB. Our dynamic curriculum is designed to allow students to be inspired, challenge themselves and to think critically and creatively.
Learning doesn’t just take place in the classroom, and we strongly believe in a balanced and holistic education. Our students enthusiastically take part in our extensive cocurricular programs that have been designed to tap into every student’s interests, abilities and talents.
Students’ aspirations are supported by the exceptional facilities needed for their abilities to flourish; and our comprehensive wellbeing program, covering all aspects of the College, provides the environment for our students to thrive.
It is a huge privilege to be entrusted with the responsibility for educating young people, in a world which is changing at an unprecedented rate: technologically, economically and socially. I am extremely proud that at MLC we continue to embrace these challenges and am confident that these students will be well-equipped to be the next generation of thinkers, innovators and achievers.
Our over-arching goal is to nurture and develop each student so that she leaves us with the skills, knowledge and values to support her at school and beyond. We are preparing students to be able to do what they want to do and be what they want to be in today’s globalised era.
I look forward to welcoming you to MLC.
