Specialised Programs and Learning Support

At Northpine Adventist College, we recognise that every student learns differently and has unique strengths, interests, and goals. To support this diversity, the College offers a range of specialised programs designed to extend high-achieving students, support those with additional learning needs, and prepare students for pathways beyond school.

High Achieving Students Program

Northpine offers a High Achieving Students Program for learners who demonstrate strong academic ability or wish to pursue advanced challenges. This program provides mentoring, enrichment opportunities, and guidance for students interested in competitions, scholarships, university programs, and extension projects. Through personalised support, students are encouraged to explore their passions and develop their talents while striving for academic excellence.

Academic Success Peer Mentoring

The College also runs an Academic Success Peer Mentoring Program, where experienced students and staff support younger students with study strategies, goal setting, and academic skills. This collaborative program fosters confidence, builds strong study habits, and encourages a culture of academic support within the school community.

Learning Support and Diverse Learning Needs

Northpine provides comprehensive Learning Support programs for students who require additional assistance with literacy, numeracy, or other areas of learning. Specialist staff work closely with teachers, parents, and allied health professionals to provide personalised learning plans and targeted support. The aim is to build students’ confidence, independence, and academic progress while ensuring they feel valued and capable in the classroom environment.

Flexible Senior Pathways

In the Senior School (Years 10–12), students can pursue flexible pathways aligned with the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). These pathways include both academic and vocational options, enabling students to prepare for university, TAFE, apprenticeships, or direct entry into the workforce. Career counselling, work experience opportunities, and tertiary partnerships support students in making informed decisions about their future.

Holistic Student Development

Beyond academic programs, Northpine places strong emphasis on the holistic development of students—supporting intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual growth within a Christian learning environment. Through a combination of extension programs, academic support, and career preparation, the College aims to empower every student to reach their potential and pursue purposeful futures.
