This is PLC

Presbyterian Ladies' College is a leading Christian independent day and boarding school for girls, offering a holistic, world-class education from early learning to Year 12. Set within expansive grounds in Melbourne’s inner eastern suburbs, PLC celebrates curiosity, compassion and character – attributes that set a strong foundation for future success.

Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC) is a leading independent Christian school for girls, offering both day and boarding programs from Early Learning to Year 12. Established in 1875, PLC fosters a nurturing and challenging environment that develops the whole person—academically, socially, physically, creatively and spiritually.

PLC’s curriculum is thoughtfully designed as a continuous and connected educational journey from the Early Learning Centre through Junior School and into Senior School.

The Early Learning Centre follows a play-based, Reggio-inspired approach that encourages exploration and creativity in a nurturing environment, integrating music, Christian Education and physical activity.

In the Junior School, learning focuses on building strong academic foundations supported by specialist programs in STEM, languages, the arts, Christian Education and physical education, while fostering creativity, critical thinking and a love of discovery.

In Senior School, students benefit from a broad and flexible core curriculum from Years 7 to 10, supported by strong form classes, personalised learning and leadership development. In Years 11 and 12, PLC offers both the VCE and the IB Diploma, allowing students to choose the pathway that best aligns with their strengths and aspirations. Students may also undertake Unit 3 and 4 VCE subjects in Year 11 or a university subject in Year 12. All students are supported through the wellbeing focused program called Wellness in Motion.
PLC’s campus blends heritage charm with modern, purpose-built facilities set among spacious, park-like grounds. A standout is the Joan Montgomery Centre, a contemporary sports, fitness and aquatic complex with three configurable courts, an eight lane 50 metre pool, a learn to swim pool, diving towers, a gymnastics arena and a strength and conditioning gym. The Performing Arts Centre features a 550 seat auditorium, music studios and a drama studio with world-class acoustics. The two-storey Learning Resource Centre supports academic life with a library, AV and IT labs and flexible learning zones. For boarders, Koorinya offers comfortable, well-equipped bedrooms with Wi-Fi and individual climate control, along with shared lounges, study spaces, music rooms and access to the school’s full range of facilities.

PLC offers a broad co-curricular program that encourages creativity, leadership and teamwork. Students can participate in music ensembles, performing arts, debating, STEM and social action clubs, House events, outdoor education and community service programs, including the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. These experiences complement academic learning and help students build confidence, resilience and a strong sense of community.

In a park-like setting, PLC’s state-of-the-art boarding house provides a friendly and safe environment for more than 100 girls from regional Australia and overseas. The facility is modern and comfortable, with individual bedrooms for senior girls. Boarders have access to the College’s extensive recreational and sporting facilities, as well as computers for study.
