Following the successful introduction of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Somerville House in 2026, these scholarships provide an opportunity for two students to access a globally recognised education through an IB World School.

The scholarships are designed to support students who demonstrate strong academic potential and a commitment to learning, and who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend Somerville House.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is an internationally recognised senior secondary qualification that challenges students to think critically, communicate confidently and engage with the world around them. The programme combines academic rigour with opportunities for personal growth, preparing students for success at university and beyond.

Principal Dr Deborah Priest said the scholarships reflect the School’s commitment to providing exceptional educational opportunities and expanding access to a Somerville House education.

“The introduction of the IB Diploma Programme has enriched the academic pathways available to our students and strengthened our commitment to developing globally minded learners. These scholarships will enable students to access an outstanding educational experience and become part of our growing IB community.”

Applications are now open and close at 4.00pm on Friday 2 October 2026.

Students and families interested in learning more about the scholarships, eligibility requirements and application process are encouraged to visit the Somerville House website.
