The commencement of high school marks a notable transition in any student’s life. The Year 6 into 7 Virtual Information Session is designed to provide a space in which both students and parents can ask questions and learn more about the Senior School at SMGS.
This invitation is also extended to those who have not yet decided whether to attend SMGS for Year 7. The evening will discuss aspects of the Senior School and what you can expect at our School.
This year, because of COVID-19, the event will be held via webinar with a live ‘question and answer’ session with our Director of Curriculum and Academic Development, Dr Darryl Nelson, and the current Dean of Students of Year 7, Ms Emma Smith. The information evening is designed for both students and parents.
Topics to be covered on the evening include:
- Year and class structure for Year 7 in 2021
- Pastoral care approach at SMGS
- Academic approach at SMGS
- Co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities
- Orientation Day and transition program
