Our College offers families the opportunity to access world-class and award-winning facilities close to home on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

Our facilities are carefully designed to provide the best learning environment for students, with a key focus on tailoring learning spaces to boys.

The growth of our facilities is due to the College’s Master Plan and clearly structured building programs.

Our most recent project, the four-storey Goold Building, was awarded the Master Builders Association of NSW 2020 Excellence in Construction Award, and was a finalist in the Australian Education Awards 2021 for 'Innovation in Learning Environment Design'.

The College has an ongoing commitment to providing a lively, stimulating, happy and future-focused environment for its learners.

Key spaces at our College:
Monica Chapel

Monica Chapel is a place of prayer and peace for our boys and the community to connect and reflect. We have two Augustinian priests available at the College for students, staff and families.
Design and Technology Workshops

Our TAS workshops offer open-plan multifunctional spaces, including a central working hub. There are two designated spaces for the Industrial Technology timber students. Design and Technology resources include 3D printers, laser printers and other specialty machinery.
Science Spaces

The Mendel Science Wing includes open plan science laboratories and classrooms. The laboratories are connected to classrooms through large bi-fold doors, allowing teachers to move students between practical and theory lessons with ease. We are pleased that our Primary students have access to high quality science facilities usually only available to high school students.

The library, referred to as our Augustine Resource Centre (ARC), is a key part of the award-winning Goold Building, spanning three levels and intentionally blurring the lines between library, transit areas and classrooms. This actively encourages the students' propensity to browse and immerses students in an engaging learning environment.
Open Spaces and Gymnasium

Our structured building program is undertaken with a commitment to maintaining ample green space. We understand that boys are active learners, and our open space allows students to burn off energy during breaks so they can focus during class. Our sophisticated gymnasium is well equipped and managed by Athletic Development Coaches.
Specialist Art Studios

Our bespoke art rooms offer a creative environment with abundant natural light and were designed in close collaboration between architects and our Visual Arts faculty.
Halls and Auditoriums

We are fortunate to have both the Brimson Centre's multi-purpose hall for assemblies, events, sports training and games, and the multi-purpose Lecceto Auditorium.

Our canteen has been designed as a sophisticated commercial kitchen to effectively deliver high quality, healthy and tasty meals to students and staff, as well as being equipped to manage large scale catering for various events. Our dedicated Food Services team prepares and cooks nearly all food onsite. We run a cashless system for purchases, allowing easy spend tracking and ordering for students and families. Read more about our Canteen here.
Architecturally Designed Music Hub

The Goold Music Centre forms part of the creative hub. It includes specially designed music classrooms, tutorial rooms, a recording studio, amphitheatre, and a multi-purpose auditorium with retractable seating. All rooms have been acoustically treated to accentuate sound properties whilst minimising sound spill between rooms. Creative storage solutions house the large collection of instruments and teaching material. Read more about our Private Music Tuition Program here.

As a Catholic school in the Augustinian tradition, we are committed to educating our students to become men who value and nurture their faith long after they leave the College. Students are challenged to appreciate their responsibility to the local and global community through a commitment to the Gospel values of social justice and compassion for the needs of others. These values are developed through an extensive Mass, Liturgy and Retreat schedule.

St Augustine's College Motto: Vincit Veritas (Truth Conquers)

The College motto, 'Truth Conquers', is based on the phrase from Augustine's writings 'nothing conquers except truth and the victory of truth is love’. Truth is true knowledge, not ignorance. Truth is living justly, not according to false values. Ultimately, it is God who is both Truth and Love. An Augustinian education seeks a balance in learning between different kinds of subjects be they humanities or sciences, career-oriented or focused on spiritual, personal and interpersonal growth.

As expressed through the Augustinian lenses of Humility, Interiority, Community, the Restless Search for Truth and Ongoing Conversion.
The Vision of the College is to provide a safe and supportive Catholic environment that challenges, fosters growth, courage and resilience in students, staff and parents.
The Mission of the College is to promote the uniqueness of the individual founded on Catholic and Augustinian principles. We aspire to be an innovative, engaging learning community that cultivates the development of balanced individuals who are known, loved, focused on the common good, strive for personal excellence, friendship and to be accountable. As stewards, we proclaim sustainability, illuminated by faith in Christ.

Jonathan Byrne joined St Augustine’s College in 2017, following senior leadership positions across a variety of schools in Sydney. He holds a Masters of Educational Teacher Professional Learning from University of NSW, a Masters Educational Leadership from Australian Catholic University, and a Diploma of Education and Bachelor of Arts Politics and History from Macquarie University.

Along with being a respected educator who maintains a regular teaching load, Jonathan also has a strong background in business, technology, management, governance, and administration.

Jonathan brings to the College energy, innovative ideas based on educational theory and practice, and a commitment to personal growth. He oversees a culture of achievement and high academic expectations, and believes that all boys can achieve significant success, no matter what their chosen pathway.

"Like Saint Augustine, the College accompanies young men on their journey to becoming good men. Young men who will move into the world self-assured and can act with a strength of character, intellect and a generosity of spirit. Modern men who can act and lead others.

I invite you to become familiar with the Augustinian story, and to meet our staff and students by joining us on a tour or at the College’s Open Day."
