Foundation Principal's welcome

I am excited and honoured to serve the St Mary's Parish and Coomera community as Foundation Principal of St Joseph's College. My vision and energy will be focused on the establishment and growth of a school and community centred on excellence where justice, inclusion and service are visible. I intend to embrace the challenge of leadership in a way that will see the staff and I shape a community of strength and gentleness, respectful of the dignity of all, where knowledge, service and the formation of strong character in our young people is central to each child’s and families journey.

It is then my hope that, in so doing, St Joseph’s will flourish into a learning community where young people are encouraged to deliver their best in all things and where their Josephite character is witnessed in the way they interact in and influence the society they lead.

Our College motto, "Courage to Love, Learn & Serve" is embedded in the service and action of St Mary of The Cross and I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to create a community where this lives authentically and is visible in the relationships, care and commitment to excellence in all aspects of College life.

Parents can expect a school of vibrant and challenging learning environments which are designed to shape young people that can respond dynamically to a world in constant change. As response to this social complexity we will develop a vision and formation plan for our graduates that has them resilient, flexible and ready to lead such an environment. Young people who know and can apply the values of their faith to the interactions and relationships of their life.

For this new College, its students and families, I wish to deliver this perspective in in so doing create informed and authentic perspectives, shaped by faith and values that deliver relevance and connection for our young people with the world in which they live.
I am excited to bring my leadership experience in complex and challenging settings, from multi campus P-12 schools to large boarding schools and offer that to the Coomera community. My hope is that this broad range of understandings and distinctive insights into the management of people, pedagogy, faith and stewardship will ensure not only a solid foundation is built but an educational institution where high expectations are set, collaboration is fostered and an educational philosophy and strategy is set in place that serves students well and encourages their growth and development toward a flourishing future. St Joseph's students will be be challenged to become creative, critical and independent thinkers willing and equipped to move toward civic leadership and compassionate action informed by gospel values.

I am enlivened by the opportunity to serve as Principal of this new community and to nurture and develop a College where young people answer the call of Christ through loving, compassionate, challenging action and have a strong educational foundation to ensure there actions allow them to be the difference they want to see in the world.
