Cadets

St Paul’s School Army Cadet Unit provides an excellent opportunity for students to develop leadership skills. St Paul’s is one of only a few Queensland schools with a Cadet Unit.  Students participate in various leadership forums of a theoretical nature as well a range of outdoor activities such as unit training, ceremonial parades and camping. Students also have the opportunity to complete a Duke of Edinburgh Award through Cadets.

 
 
Chess

Students get the chance to pit their chess skills against fellow students and other schools.  The St Paul’s Chess Club is fully equipped with match size chess sets and clocks. It also boasts an outdoor, full size chess set for students to access at lunchtimes which is played by Junior, Middle and Senior School students.

 
 
Dance

Dance is a pursuit that has a long tradition at St Paul’s School. The combination of state-of-the-art facilities (The Walker Centre) and a close relationship with Dance Directions has afforded many students the chance to flourish through training and performance. Dance can be engaged with through direct involvement with Dance Directions and also through curricular opportunities in the Junior School and as an elective in Years 7, 8 and 9.

 
 
Debating

St Paul’s debating teams compete as part the Queensland Debating Union and Circuit Debating Society.  Students of all ages have the opportunity to compete and learn valuable skills; particularly the ability to think on their feet.

 
 
Drama

Drama is offered to students in Middle and Senior School and provides a multitude of performance opportunities including plays, musicals and tours.  Our recently opened, state of the art Performing Arts Centre provides our Drama students with exceptional opportunities to perform their works.

 
 
Photography Club

The St Paul’s Photography Club is an interactive, photography-based club. Members are involved in photographing all major events on the St Paul’s School Calendar as well as exploring their own creativity in the photographic medium.

 
 
Interact

Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people in Middle and Senior School. Our Interact club is sponsored by Pine Rivers Rotary Club, and each year students complete at least two community service projects, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill.

Private Bus services

Private bus services are available to the below suburbs.  Students in Years 4 and over can use these services on their own, however, students in Pre-Prep to Year 3 must be accompanied by an older sibling or guardian.

St Paul’s School partners with Brisbane Bus Lines (BBL) to provide 2 services from the Samford area to St Paul’s School. One service travels via Eatons Crossing Road through Eatons Hill while the other travels via Ferny Grove, Bunya and Bridgeman Downs. Please note - students may be required to use a connecting BBL service as part of their travel to/from St Pauls. BBL manages all aspects of registration for the school bus service and fare payment. Individual student fares are determined as part of the registration process. Scholarship program

At St Paul’s School, we are deeply committed to nurturing the holistic development of our students, ensuring their academic excellence, personal growth, wellbeing, and a strong sense of community pride. As part of this commitment, we offer a variety of excellence scholarships. These scholarships empower students to develop their unique talents, explore their passions, and grow as individuals.

Specialist scholarships

Specialist scholarships are for students that excel in their chosen area of specialty.

There are three specialist scholarship categories for 2026.

Performing Arts Scholarships for students who excel in music, drama or dance.

Sport Scholarships for students who excel in any given sport.

Vocational Scholarships for students commencing in Year 10 who are wishing to follow a vocational educational pathway in Years 11 and 12.

Students wishing to apply for a specialist scholarship must:

  • Sit the academic scholarship exam
  • Complete a specialist scholarship application form and return to the Principal with required supporting documentation.

Details of the application process and criteria are included in the information pack linked below.

Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview or audition with the Principal.

Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer from the Principal.

Step 1: Read information pack

The information pack contains details on the specialist scholarship categories, selection criteria, documentation requirements, application process along with expectations of the recipients.

Step 2: Register for academic scholarship exam

The scholarship exam will be held on Saturday 22 March, at St Paul’s School.

Step 3: Complete application form

Complete the specialist scholarship application form.

Applications are to be submitted to the Principal by 4:00pm, Friday 14 March 2025. Applications closed.

Indigenous scholarships

Provide scholarship funding for members of the community with Indigenous heritage who may not have the financial means. Full or part scholarships are offered to Indigenous students to cover the cost of tuition at St Paul’s School.
