About Trinity

For over 115 years, Trinity Grammar School has provided the highest quality education to young men of Melbourne and beyond. We pride ourselves on growing exceptional young men who take their place in the world as considerate, resilient and enquiring members of society.

At Trinity, we pride ourselves on offering:

  • a diverse curriculum shaped to meet individual needs;
  • a learning environment designed for boys to prosper;
  • opportunities to access technology to engage our students in an effective and meaningful manner;
  • a breadth of cocurricular activities which inspire engagement and a sense of belonging;
  • a social environment, which is both supportive and nurturing; and
  • meaningful community outreach that assists our boys to become responsible global citizens

Cocurricular Offerings

We offer over 100 different cocurricular activities, encompassing an incredibly wide range of disciplines and fields of interest. The breadth of our cocurricular program means there is something for each boy, and we strongly encourage them to involve themselves in as many activities as possible, so as to discover new interests, talents and passions.

Sport

In the Junior School, boys in Years 3 to 6 participate in the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Swimming and Athletics Championships, as well as weekly inter-house competitions at Bulleen, and regular round-robin sports with other Associated Grammar Schools Victoria (AGSV) Junior Schools.In the Junior School, boys in Years 3 to 6 participate in the School Sport Victoria (SSV) Swimming and Athletics Championships, as well as weekly inter-house competitions at Bulleen, and regular round-robin sports with other Associated Grammar Schools Victoria (AGSV) Junior Schools.

In the Senior School, Trinity competes in the AGSV Saturday morning competition. All boys choose a summer and a winter sport from almost 30 different options. Our playing fields at Bulleen provide dedicated facilities for tennis, soccer, rugby, football, hockey and cricket, and we also offer a number of non-AGSV sport activities such as rugby, sailing, fencing and futsal.

Outreach Program

Our Outreach Program encourages boys, through active service in local, national and international initiatives, to become aware of their privilege, the needs of less fortunate members of their community, and the contribution they can make.

Performing Arts

We offer a diverse and engaging music program to all students from ELC to Year 12. Our Music Faculty offers a wide range of instrumental lessons, classroom music programs and ensembles, providing boys with well-rounded musical development.

Outdoor Education

The personal insights and self-knowledge gained in the outdoors can contribute to the way a boy manages the situations he meets in other parts of his life. The outdoor program provides learning experiences on many levels. These are enjoyed by boys as they extend their knowledge of themselves, their peers and the natural environment.

Coordinate Program

From Year 9 onwards, through opportunities such as the Ruyton-Trinity play and dancing classes, boys begin to interact socially with their Ruyton counterparts.

In Years 11 and 12, the Program expands to encompass academic classes. This not only enables students to choose from a much broader range of subjects than might otherwise be possible, but also provides them with an introduction to a coeducational environment at an age and stage at which they can gain maximum benefit.

Trinity Grammar School, Kew’s mission is to be an outstanding Anglican independent boys school, providing an extensive range of academic and co-curricular programs within a caring, happy, dynamic environment, encouraging students to fulfil their academic and personal potential and giving significant emphasis to the importance of positive relationships.

Our students consistently achieve outstanding VCE results. In 2019, our joint Duces achieved outstanding ATARs of 99.95, with a further 17 boys (app. 11%) obtaining ATARs of 99 or above. Impressively, 53% of all boys achieved ATARs over 90.00, and the median ATAR was 91.30.

Trinity Grammar School, Kew has won the 2020 The Age Schools that Excel Award, Eastern Melbourne (non-government). The award is in recognition for having the best growth in VCE results over the past 10 years.

Trinity is a proud school that has developed boys into good men for almost 120 years. This is a community that seeks to produce men of integrity; men that enjoy self-respect and consistently respect others. It has been my experience of Trinity, through my various contacts over many years, that its students have been genuine and humble in their interactions.

I am also excited to be leading such a high calibre staff that is so clearly committed to supporting the development of the young people in their care.

A school community serves its students well when it is aspirational for them. At Trinity, we seek to reveal and foster our students’ character. We challenge them to strive for greatness, be conspicuous for their kind treatment of themselves and others, and to aim to be the best version of themselves.

We are embarking on another exciting chapter in Trinity’s proud history. I invite you to come and see us in action, on our website and on campus when accessible, to see how we support and nurture boys to achieve great things every day.
