Faith in Christ...prepared for life
Educating the whole student
A constant challenge for all schools is to keep up with a changing world landscape, remain relevant and meaningful amidst all of the technological scientific and societal advances, all the while maintaining the enduring and time-tested values that are vital for our young people to grasp. A major underpinning of our aims at Faith is to educate the whole child, through the delivery of a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular experiences. While the academic program provides the back bone of the schooling experience and the important academic outcomes, there are associated programs that provide invaluable outcomes for young people preparing for life. Excellence in the arts, high achievement in sports, learning with the latest in effective digital technologies, the highest level involvement in service learning and contributions to the community, locally and nationally and internationally; all delivered within a very strong spiritual and value laden framework successfully supplement the academic learning program to provide a rich and fulfilling educational experience benefitting the whole student.

Faith community walks with Jimmy
to support Brainchild Foundation
Arriving at Faith Lutheran College, Jimmy Harrington was absolutely speechless as he received a rock star welcome! Debbie Harrington, Jimmy’s mother and his brother, Ryan Harrington together with Belinda Brunoli, from the Brainchild Foundation, were emotionally moved to see the biggest reception Jimmy had received to date. Jimmy Harrington is a young man walking around Australia to support the Brainchild Foundation.
From May last year, Faith students began to follow Jimmy’s journey, through weekly updates on assembly. Students reached out by sending letters of encouragement and support to Jimmy, listened to his interviews, followed his online posts and learnt of the places he has walked through.
During his visit, Jimmy answered questions from our students and shared some of his adventures. Jimmy played a video showing Emily, the little girl who inspired him to begin his journey. It was a very moving moment and reminded all of us as to why we were getting ready to walk with Jimmy.
The students of Faith enthusiastically organised and participated in a walk-a-thon, raising an amazing $17,105.80 to donate to the Brainchild Foundation.
We will follow Jimmy through the remainder of his journey, as he now heads through NSW and eventually back home to Adelaide.
Our Faith community learnt a lot about a young man who is making a difference! If you would like to know more about Jimmy’s journey please go to https://www.facebook.com/JimmysWalkforCancer

Faith students... preparing for life
Faith Lutheran College, Redlands has built a strong reputation in the Redlands for its caring, Christian and community minded approach to education.
The College’s key goal is to prepare its students for life, and this is reflected in everything Faith does, with students encouraged to be caring and community minded members of society.
Students are given many opportunities to make a real difference in the Redlands, as well as key school projects that allow children to offer state and international aid to communities in need.
The strong academic focus is enhanced by a supportive Christian environment. This approach is one that is consistent in Lutheran Schools across Australia, earning them an excellent reputation for enhancing student outcomes. Faith offers a broad range of academic experiences and subjects including Vocational Education and flexible learning pathways, plus the latest in Computing and Technology.
Students are acknowledged and treated as individuals and it is this tailored teaching approach that continues to give each child the educational opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
While encouraging students to excel academically, Faith also has a deep commitment to developing and broadening their leadership skills through a range of programs and educational opportunities.
Faith’s Music and Arts program gives students every opportunity to develop their passion and as a result the College has made a name for itself in producing talented musicians, actors and artists. Faith prides itself on offering students a wide range of sports from Rugby Union, Netball, Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball, Softball, Cricket, Basketball and AFL. As a member of The Associated Schools (TAS) students also have the chance to compete against other Colleges in their chosen sports.
These programs have seen Faith students selected for the Brisbane Lions Academy, the Australian Institute of Sport’s AFL Academy, the Australian Ballet and represent the nation in the World Robotics Championships.
Faith has grown significantly since it opened its doors in 1982, and offers a Junior, Middle and Senior School, housed across two extensive campuses in the Redlands.
