Iona College is an independent Catholic boys school, owned and administered by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
It is located in the Brisbane bayside suburb of Lindum and caters for over 1500 students from Years 5 to 12 inclusive.
Iona College seeks to provide a dynamic Catholic learning community within the Oblate spirit, so that its members are faith-filled, resilient, courageous, well-balanced and prepared to make a difference.
What distinguishes Iona College as a truly Christian school is the centrality of the message of the Gospel to the values, relationships and operation of the community.
The Catholicity of the College is expressed through celebration of the Sacraments, particularly Eucharist, connection to the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, collegiality with other Catholic Colleges and a high proportion of Catholic students.
As a Catholic school in the Oblate religious tradition, Iona College focuses the holistic development of our students.
The classroom is just part of the education journey at Iona. By learning how to serve their community, Iona students learn how to become better men.
It is at the heart of the Oblate mission, and what it means to be an Ionian.
Our curriculum provides a wide range of subject opportunities to cultivate the individual talents of each student, including marine science, engineering and aerospace programs.
Iona College understands that the dreams and talents of each student are unique. Student learning is fostered in an environment that is challenging, engaging and supportive.
Classroom activities are designed to be enjoyable, stimulating and authentic.
Our co-curricular program caters to the passion of every student including music, sport, drama and the arts, supported by world-class facilities such as our 2500-seat indoor stadium The Provence Centre, our 500-seat Iona Performing Arts Centre and our expansive, on-campus playing fields.
Our students not only experience a positive school culture and environment, but are taught how to enhance their personal wellbeing, deal with life’s challenges, live a life of meaning and purpose, and strengthen their relationships with others and with God.
