Our school is blessed to be set in a location surrounded by bushland and open space at the northern end of the Central Coast. The school has two distinct spaces, Junior School (K to 6) and Senior School (7 to 12) which are joined by a boardwalk, providing our students with the tailored environments they each need to grow and develop throughout their schooling years.

Since opening in 2004, Lakes Grammar has developed an excellent reputation as one of the leading independent schools in the Central Coast region. The school operates under the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle and has over 900 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

Lakes Grammar has a committed and professional staff, a warm parent community, enthusiastic and engaged students and strong, supportive links with the Diocese.

Lakes Grammar sets high academic and behavioural standards for our students and students of all backgrounds are welcomed to a safe, inclusive, supportive, and academically challenging environment. Our school is part of the Newcastle Anglican Schools Corporation where we aim to enable each student:

  • To be curious and self-confident, with a broad and deep knowledge base, and passion for learning
  • To develop an age-appropriate values, beliefs and ethical systems informed by the Anglican approach to Christianity, and,
  • To achieve their maximum personal, academic, sporting, creative and cultural potential, in an inclusive environment where we respect, value, and celebrate the distinct gifts and contribution of each person irrespective of ability, gender, sexuality, race, age, or association with the church.

At Lakes Grammar, your child will be treated as an individual and challenged to do their best. They will be more than a school report, a grade or mark and a twice-yearly comment. They will be known and cared for by our outstanding staff. Lakes works not only with our students but is on the educational journey with our parents and our community. We aim to develop a student’s character, where they are ready to take on the challenges of not only their schooling, but life after school with resilience, determination, an inquisitive and positive mindset, and a servant heart.

The school utilises a range of contemporary, research-based programs to enhance student engagement including the Learning Power Approach developed by Professor Guy Claxton.

“The aim of the Learning Power Approach is to develop all students as confident and capable learners – ready, willing and able to choose, design, research, pursue, troubleshoot, and evaluate learning for themselves, alone and with others, in school and out”.

We have integrated this approach into a framework that also includes our Christian, social-emotional and values goals for our students. We call this the Vital Framework.

Academically, every student at Lakes Grammar is catered for through the rich and diverse nature of our subject offerings, our modern and well-appointed learning facilities, our gifted and talented and learning support programs, as well as our strong co-curricular programs which extend student learning beyond the classroom. With a focus on 21st-century skills, all students are encouraged and taught to be collaborative, critical thinkers who can problem solve.

As a school, we pride ourselves on our close-knit community and our ability to support our students as individuals. Each campus is supported by a counsellor, a Chaplain and a student wellbeing co-ordinator who can offer our students and their families pastoral care and other support services if required, as well as facilitating programs focused on building resilience and self-esteem.

Our purpose is to educate and enable young people to flourish and achieve their aspirations in life.

Our values are:
Faith
Compassion
Integrity
Justice
Wisdom
Our vision for our students is that they will be equipped to build better futures. We provide a wide range of experiences designed to build in our students the capacity and personal resources to be clear thinkers, capable of making good decisions, with a desire to serve their communities. Through our Christian goals we aim to help our students to flourish so that they may contribute to helping their communities to flourish – so that they may be able to build better futures for themselves and the communities in which they will live and work.
