Our Approach:

The Lindamood-Bell Academy is a unique in-person or online accredited private school where we develop the imagery-language foundation for language and literacy skills, and apply those skills to all curriculum and content.

Download our Academy Guidebook here.

Our Curriculum:

It offers several options for a flexible and differentiated learning environment.

First, students can attend for a partial or full-day, approximately 4 or 6 hours. A four hour day might consist of 4 core subject courses (English Language Arts, Science, Math, and Social Studies), whereas the 6 hour day allows time for core classes as well as electives and/or study hall hours.

During their day, the student will receive one-to-one and small group instruction, where small groups may generally consist of 2-3 students. In addition, students have the option of attending the Academy in person at a local learning center, via the comfort of their own home, utilizing our unique online option, or a blend of both.

The Academy, where the imagery-language foundation is at the core of all learning, uses a recognized and proven standards-aligned curriculum. A personalized education plan is developed for students and, whether in person or online, our programs replicate Lindamood-Bell quality on all levels-our students do not work alone.

Learn More

We partner with Pearson Connections Learning, a recognized and proven curriculum that offers standards-aligned courses. We utilize Pearson’s Education Management System (CxEMS) to track progress, grading, and record-keeping.

Our K-8 program offers core courses (English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science) with Gifted and Talented courses starting at the 3rd grade (English Language Arts, Math, and Science only). In addition, some schedules may include the option of adding electives.

Our high school program offers a wide variety of classes at a range of levels, all designed to meet the needs of our unique student body. These courses can include Advanced Placement, Honors, Foundations, and Credit Recovery, in addition to the general education course offerings. Diplomas can be earned by students and we follow the general CA State Graduation Requirements as a guide. In addition to being supported by Lindamood-Bell staff, high school students may also be supported by Pearson instructors as well, depending on the courses in which they are enrolled.
Over the past 30 years more than 35,000 students have been taught how to learn to their potential at Lindamood-Bell. While some of our students have a previous diagnosis that affects learning, others seek our help to enhance their skills or to just make learning easier—and we make a difference for each one of them.
