The Camino Program, OFG’s Gifted & Talented Extension Program commences in Kindergarten with the early identification of students who will benefit from academic extension activities. From Kindergarten through to Year 4, these students are catered for through small groups that encourage questioning, imaginative thinking, investigation and reflection in areas such as writing, mathematics and science. From Year 5 the Camino Program is activated through dedicated extension classes where students encounter challenging learning experiences, both independently and in collaboration with like-minded peers.
The Camino Program in the Senior School was introduced to provide appropriate differentiation for our most academically gifted and talented students. The name is derived from the Camino de Santiago, which is a network of pilgrimages leading to the shrine of the apostle James at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in north-west Spain. The word “Camino” is therefore intended to capture the idea of a challenging and stimulating journey – physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually – that stretches the individuals who undertake it.
OFG is based on Oxford Falls road in Sydney's Northern Beaches. Our school is serviced by buses from Chatswood Station, Pymble Station, Monavale, Terry Hills, Warriewood, Manly Wharf, Balgowlah and Seaforth. Buses also service nearby suburbs of Belrose, Davidson, Frenchs Forest and Allambie Heights.
Oxford Falls Grammar has a robust academic program and a contemporary focus on 21st century learning. Our educational strategies focus on the individual student, fostering critical thinking, curiosity and a love of learning. Each student’s learning experience is rich, challenging and promotes their intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual growth. A scholarship at OFG is a symbolic representation of our culture of generosity as we develop young men and women of great character, attitude and purpose.
Our academic scholarships are available for students entering Year 7 or Year 11 in 2023. Applications open on 5 November and close on Friday 11 February 2022. For more information please go to our website https://ofg.nsw.edu.au/enrolments/#scholarships
