Pittwater House is an independent, non-denominational school offering a well-rounded private school education to students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12.

Our innovative structure provides your child the best of both worlds, in a learning environment combining predominantly single-gender classes on one co-educational campus.

We maintain a modest student population to ensure that each individual is seen, known and cared for, so our staff can develop a true understanding of your child’s abilities, talents and needs – both inside and outside the classroom.

In the classroom, our highly qualified teachers use explicit teaching, where lessons are clearly structured, concepts are taught step-by-step, and students receive direct guidance and feedback.

Outside the classroom, we offer students an array of co-curricular opportunities to cater to a diverse range of interests and abilities, most of which take place on our large campus.

Pittwater House offers your child countless ways to develop and thrive.

We use explicit teaching – a research-based method where lessons are clearly structured, concepts are taught step-by-step, and students receive direct guidance and feedback. This approach reduces confusion, builds confidence, and leads to stronger outcomes across all year levels.

Every lesson is designed to maximise focus and minimise distraction, helping students stay engaged and absorb knowledge more effectively.

We believe exceptional teaching starts with a culture of ongoing learning.

This commitment to excellence lifts the standard of every classroom, and strengthens the relationships that make learning thrive.
Pittwater House has a large 3.5 hectare campus offering playgrounds and leisure spaces for all ages, from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. We have a broad range of facilities onsite including a pool, a multipurpose playing field, numerous playgrounds, the Great Hall, outdoor courts, an indoor sports complex, the Performing Arts Precinct with tutor rooms and a Performing Arts Centre, creative art rooms and a health centre staffed by a Registered Nurse.

We also offer a before and after school club onsite for students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.
Our unique twin schooling approach offers single-gender classes on a co-educational campus.

It gives your child all the advantages of gender-specific teaching combined with the many social benefits of a co-educational campus.

Although our Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Year 1 classes are fully co-educational, our Year 2 to Year 6 students participate in single-gender learning for most of their subjects. That is, separate classrooms are designated for boys and girls within the same school, while both study the same curriculum.

In Years 7 and 8, all classes are taught in single-gender classes, with teachers utilising gender-based strategies to optimise learning and confidence.

In Years 9 and 10, students participate in co-educational classes for three elective subjects, but continue to have single-gender classes for English, Maths, Science, History, Geography and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE).

By Years 11 and 12, all classes including Form classes are co-educational, to prepare students for life after school.

Children learn best when they feel safe, seen and supported, so wellbeing is embedded into every day.

Our pastoral classes, age-appropriate wellbeing programs, beloved Buddy Program, the Service Learning Program and leadership pathways build compassionate, community-minded boys and girls and a nurturing environment where students build their confidence, emotional literacy and meaningful friendships.

With experienced educators, on-site health professionals and a personalised approach to care, we help every child feel valued, connected and ready to thrive.

Our 'HEROIC' mnemonic represents our Core Values - the intention of all we aspire to be each day, as members of the Pittwater House community.
H - Honesty and Integrity
E - Excellence
R - Respect and Care
O - Origins
I - Innovation
C - Community

We are proud to share the 2025 HSC results of our remarkable Class of 2025, together with our accelerated Year 11 students.

It has been a privilege to witness the growth, resilience and achievements of this cohort, whose balanced approach to learning and strong sense of community have been defining features of their journey. We are delighted to report that our students achieved impressive academic outcomes this year, with a median ATAR of 83.1 and a mean ATAR of 82.1, supported by consistently strong performance across a wide range of subjects.

Duces

We extend special congratulations to our Dux of Girls’ College, Charlotte Smith (ATAR: 99.5), who commenced her Pittwater House journey in Year 7, and our Dux of Boys’ Grammar, Errol Sandhu (ATAR: 99.3), who has been part of our community since the Junior School. Their outstanding achievements reflect exceptional effort, perseverance and commitment throughout their years at Pittwater House.

All Rounders

We are also proud to acknowledge students named on the HSC Band 6 All Rounders List: Errol Sandhu, Charlotte Smith and Viktoriya Sushcheva. These students demonstrated consistently high achievement across their subjects, underpinned by strong work ethic, leadership and academic excellence.

Top Achievers

In addition, we congratulate our Top Achievers who placed among the highest in the state in specific HSC courses while achieving the highest possible grade: Adele Cosentino (5th in state, PDHPE) – whose Pittwater House journey began in our Early Childhood Centre and included a First in Course in Dance as an HSC accelerant in 2024 – alongside Poppy Playle (9th in state, Food Technology), Errol Sandhu (15th in state, Legal Studies) and Charlotte Smith (5th in state, English Extension 1). Their passion for learning and dedication to their disciplines set a high standard, and we celebrate their success with great pride.

Distinguished Achievers

Overall, of the students who elected to receive an ATAR, 31% achieved an ATAR of 90 or above, with 14% exceeding 95 and 11% surpassing 97. Collectively, 58 students achieved 118 Band 6 results (90+) across 28 subjects, representing an excellent achievement.

Subject Success

Students excelled in several key subject areas, achieving 100% results in the top two Bands for subjects including English Extension 1, English Extension 2, Mathematics Extension 2 and Music.

Across all 2-unit and Extension subjects, Pittwater House achieved Band 6/E4 results in 66% of subjects, while 81% of courses exceeded the state average for students achieving the top two HSC bands, reflecting strong and consistent achievement across a broad range of disciplines. In Extension subjects, 93% of students achieved results in the top two Bands, with an outstanding eight out of nine students achieving Band 6 in Accelerated Mathematics.

HSC Showcases

We are also delighted to celebrate our students’ success in the practical components of their HSC courses. This year, Pittwater House proudly received five ENCORE nominations in Music, two ARTEXPRESS selections in Visual Arts, one SHAPE nomination in Design and Technology, and one OnSTAGE nomination in Drama, highlighting the exceptional creativity and talent of our students across the arts.

The Cohort

While this cohort demonstrated admirable academic strength, what stood out most was their ability to support one another and approach school life with balance, generosity and a genuine sense of enjoyment. The respect they earned from their teachers and the strong connections they built with one another give us great confidence that they are well prepared for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

These achievements also reflect the continued strength of our HEROIC learning model, which fosters excellence not only academically, but across all areas of personal growth.

We are immensely proud of the Class of 2025 and the young adults they have become. We look forward to witnessing the promising post-school pathways that now await them.

We run a private service of five bus routes for families living in the North Beaches and on the North Shore who are not served by commercial or governmental transport.

These buses service families living between the school and Avalon, Forestville, Manly, Mosman and St Ives with live tracking via our bus service app, and card-swipe check-ins for added peace of mind.

Students board and alight our buses in the school carpark, away from road traffic with Junior School students escorted to the buses by teaching staff each day.

At Pittwater House, we believe education has the power to transform not only individual lives, but the strength of our entire community. An education that seeks to nurture the intellect whilst connecting with the heart of young people is one of the greatest gifts a family can provide for their young people. It would be a privilege to walk this journey with you.

We are a school built on partnership — working closely with families to provide an exceptional education and opportunities that ignite curiosity and passion in every student. We are large enough offer the breadth of opportunities available, yet small enough as a community to be known and valued.

Belonging to a community with shared purpose creates the strongest foundation for growth. While academic excellence remains central to who we are, a truly great education also develops values, character and leadership.

Beyond the classroom, students are encouraged to engage with their natural surroundings and discover their confidence, purpose and unique strengths.

Together, we are shaping young people who are ready to make a positive difference in the world.
