Let Your Light Shine

Welcome to Redlands: Our innovative and inclusive coeducational learning community nurtures each individual student, developing their unique skills and talents to achieve personal excellence and truly let their light shine. Located in Cremorne on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, we offer an outstanding academic education from Preschool to Year 12, with a focus on each individual student, exceptional teachers and world-class learning programs and resources. Since 1884, we have upheld a proud tradition of academic excellence, supported by an extensive range of sport and cocurricular opportunities. Redlands students graduate as well-rounded, confident and compassionate young adults, ready to make a natural transition to life after school and a positive contribution to our world.

Learning Together, Leading Together

Our positive and inclusive coeducational learning environment fosters mutual respect between genders as they learn together and lead together. Now more than ever, coeducation prepares your child to make the most of opportunities and meet the challenges of life after school. Redlands has offered a coeducational learning environment since 1978, where students question traditional viewpoints, developing a wider perspective, preparing them for today’s world outside of school.

Coeducation at Redlands

Our Educational Philosophy

The Redlands Learning Platform is the School’s educational philosophy and teaching and learning framework that has been developed to enable our students to achieve academic excellence. The Redlands Learning Platform develops the skills, knowledge and capabilities of our students to flourish and prepares them for tertiary studies and to be active and responsible citizens in our global community. The platform is based on Harvard University research. By promoting skills of higher order thinking and problem-solving, it encourages students to apply knowledge and understanding to problems and situations not previously experienced.

The Redlands Educational Philosophy

An Inclusive Community

We are not just a school, we are a community. A community that prides ourselves on not only providing a world-class education but also embracing, encouraging and celebrating inclusivity, acceptance and diversity. We recognise the vital relationship between home and school and provide opportunities to actively involve parents in the School. Redlands has a variety of initiatives that allow our community to become more involved with the School. Our parents are encouraged to actively participate in the life at the school and we encourage you to do the same.

The Redlands Community

Student Wellbeing

At Redlands, our staff work collaboratively to prepare our students to acquire self-confidence and resilience. Across the School, we focus on specialising in student engagement and developing the social and emotional core competencies.

We work at explicitly teaching and implicitly modelling and promoting self-awareness, social awareness, self-management, respectful relationships and responsible decision making. One of our main aims is to ensure that school life is a positive, meaningful and rewarding experience and direct the energies of the School towards the holistic social and emotional development of each student.

Redlands Student Wellbeing

Co-Curricular and Outdoor Learning

Our academic program is complemented by a diverse and extensive range of cocurricular activities, which are designed to encourage students to explore their own talents, interests and passions.

There is a strong performing arts program with a wide range of musical ensembles, drama and musical theatre classes and performance opportunities, and an integrated ballet and dance academy. An extensive range of sporting options includes basketball, netball, hockey, football, AFL, rowing, snowsports, sailing, tennis and many more. Additional opportunities abound in debating, outdoor education and service.

Our Outdoor Education program provides an exciting and complementary learning experience to the traditional classroom environment. Curriculum camps involve students from Years 3 to 11 in residential-style experiences conducted in a sequential learning program in a wide range of environments throughout New South Wales.
