TACAPS is proud to offer coeducation from Kindergarten through to Year 12. Founded in 1911, the School has a rich history with strong traditions and heritage with an educational model that is intimate in size with a focus on knowing every student and family. TACAPS currently offers over 30 different sports from beginner to elite level in addition to 29 performing arts ensembles, choirs, clubs and groups. All students at TACAPS participate in service, leadership and cultural programs and the School boasts international sister and brother partnerships and exchanges with schools in Japan, China and France.
2018 marks a very significant moment in the history of TACAPS with the arrival of the first Year 12 cohort in the School’s 107 year history. TACAPS is quite unique in that it is the only co-educational school in Australia to offer a family boarding experience to students from Year 1 through to Year 12. TACAPS also provides day, weekly and temporary boarding programs and before after school care programs.
In terms of curriculum, TACAPS currently offers 18 Year 12 subjects with exceptional teacher to student ratios. Digital literacy is embedded across the curriculum from Kindergarten to Year 12, with a focus on digital technologies and programs taught in innovative and flexible learning spaces.
Whilst personal tours are always available, the TACAPS Open Day invites the community to see the students in action on a school day. It is also an opportunity for the community to witness the new exciting changes that have taken place since the School introduced Secondary education five years ago.
Whilst last year’s showcase will be hard to top, Head of School, Mr Simon Lees, now in his fifth year at TACAPS, said the new format was well received in 2017.
“We were overwhelmed by the success of last year’s Open Day and Showcase and look forward to welcoming the community again in 2018.” Mr Lees said.
“It was refreshing to have a departure from a conventional Open Day and our students and staff are to be commended for the way in which they truly embraced the occasion and really got into the spirit of the event. We were very proud to show our School in action”.
The event starts at 2pm and guests will be welcomed by College students on Main School Close. In the Performing Arts Centre of Excellence and throughout the cloisters, the College Rock Band and various music ensembles will provide lively entertainment. There will be countless opportunities to visit both Preparatory and College students in their classrooms and meet the teaching staff and the School Executive team. There will be Science, Design & Technology, Robotics, Creative & Visual Arts activities and displays throughout the day
