Adapted by Dennis Kelly and music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, Matilda the Musical is a story of a special girl with an extraordinary imagination and proudly features a cast and crew comprising students from Years 5-12.

Born into a family where she doesn’t fit in, Matilda is neglected and made fun of by her horrible and inconsiderate parents. Matilda finds solace in books and upon going to school, she is appreciated by her teacher, Miss Honey, and rebels against the terrifying bullying of the detestable headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. Matilda is both resourceful and resilient, a strong role model for all of us. She dares to question and demonstrates a strong sense of values, at odds with her family’s morals. Young though she is, she teaches us valuable life lessons.
