Swan Christian College - Middle Swan WA
Thank you for exploring Swan Christian College. We know that choosing the right school for your child is a very important decision.
We are a Christ-centred school where all students are asked and helped to be the best they can be. We aim to be a community of personal growth where all members are able to seek excellence and know God. We seek to instil in our students a passion for learning that will bring the knowledge and understanding they need to make a positive contribution to the communities in which they live and work. We provide students with educational opportunities in a wide range of learning areas and aim to provide an environment where students are supported to realise their full potential.
Our main intake years are Kindergarten, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 11.
The enrolment process begins a minimum of two years prior to commencement for Kindergarten, Year 5 and Year 7. Year 11 places are filled six months prior to commencement.
We accept applications for all other year groups and may be able to offer places pending suitable vacancies being available. Submission of an application does not guarantee a place.
Places are offered to successful applicants subject to an interview with the parents and the student.
We are a Christ-centred and student-centred school with a focus on excellence. We aim to be a community of personal growth where all members seek excellence and know God.
Our purpose is to develop and shape our students through continual evidence of faith and practice.
We seek to build character through learning, discernment and application, challenging our students to transition into living their faith as an informed, contributing adult in the world.
Swan Christian College seeks to teach and uphold Christian values with a particular focus on:
Spirituality
To seek to know and be known by God.
Integrity
To be experienced as honest and fair.
Respect
To be acclaimed for kind treatment of all.
Excellence
To aim to be the best we can be.
We seek to engage and grow the talents of all in our College, care for our resources and build our community for today and for all future generations.
To provide educational leadership and be a school of first choice for students, parents and educators.
The Kindergarten to Year 6 students make up the Junior School at Swan Christian College. Contained fully within the grounds of the wider school, classes for the first eight years of schooling are grouped in learning clusters with access to specialist facilities not usually available to primary aged children. With a comprehensive support network, students enjoy an opportunity to thrive and learn through a program that recognises their individual needs and learning styles.
Please feel free to make an appointment to explore the opportunities for your children at our school. With regular tours also available we would love to talk to you about the possibility of partnering with you in the education of your children.

Middle schooling is an intentional approach to the teaching, learning and pastoral needs of young people. There is no single model of middle schooling. Rather it includes a broad range of ways of organising Middle School including teaching and learning, pastoral and spiritual elements.
In broad terms, “Middle Schooling” usually refers to 10-15 year olds or a period described as early adolescence. Here at Swan our structure currently embraces a three part model of schooling: Years 10-12 Senior School, Years 7-9 Middle School and Kindergarten - Year 6 Junior School. At Swan Christian College we believe that early adolescence is a unique time of development and we aim to grow young people in knowledge and wisdom.

The Senior School at Swan Christian College encompasses Years 10, 11 and 12. Our purpose is to develop in each student the personal attributes described by the College’s Seven Pillars, namely, Knowledge, Courage, Service, Wisdom, Engagement, Leadership and Spirituality. The work of the Senior School embraces our Christian faith, and our declaration is that Christ is central to our identity with ultimate ownership and sovereignty over our school. Education programs are delivered to students by motivated and talented Christian teachers who embrace a Christian worldview.

The simple fact of life is that the ‘traditional’ school model does not necessarily suit all students. Opened in June 2012 and operated as a trade-specific arm of Swan Christian College, Swan Trade Training Centre (STTC) provides quality trade training and career pathways in an innovative and supportive school-based environment.
The STTC offers a fixed two-year course over Years 11 and 12 allowing students to graduate from Swan Christian College with their WACE, including the successful completion of the Certificate III Business and Certificate II Pre-apprenticeship in their chosen trade course inclusive of work experience. Courses are developed with industry input that ensures the training offered is current and relevant.
Swan Trade Training Centre aims to produce confident, well-rounded students who become ‘top class’ apprentices equipped with industry grade skills and professionalism, and pride themselves on a job well done.

Once again Swan Christian College is celebrating the academic success of its students and I would like to congratulate our Year 12 graduates on their academic achievements and excellent conduct throughout the 2019 school year.
As a leading coeducational school in Perth’s eastern suburbs, the College is delighted by the achievements of our Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) students and those who gained nationally recognised qualifications under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Some of the individual successes included College Dux Jolyon Joyce achieving an ATAR of 99, Pearce Brezmen who achieved an ATAR of 96.5 and Charlize Blicharski who achieved an ATAR of 96.35.
Nine graduates were inducted into the Excelsior Club having achieved a minimum ATAR of 90. Four students received a Certificate of Distinction which requires students to achieve A grades across their courses and/or certificates, a testament to their commitment to their studies. In addition, 12 students received a Certificate of Merit which requires students to achieve an average of B+ grades across all courses and certificates.
Congratulations must also go to our Vocational Education and Training (VET) and General students who successfully completed so many Certificates II and III. Seven of our VET students were welcomed into the Excelsior Club this year having successfully completed three or more certificate courses.
We acknowledge and thank the teachers who delivered four High Performing Courses in 2019. This is an excellent achievement and the result of much hard work by both teachers and students.
Once again Swan Christian College’s WACE achievement was higher than the state average at 95.8% compared to the state average of 91.8%. The College’s graduates received a total of 200 AQF qualifications with many students achieving multiple qualifications.
